    The ACD Method

ACD is used to help form a bias for direction. No one said anything about using to help pick inflection points for vol! The discussion was about the similarity between mean reversion strategies and selling volatility, while momentum strategies tend to mimic a long vol strategy.

Ya lets see if Lou can give some help here. I can't seem to figure out what a "shrinking pivot" or a "narrow pivot" is! I originally thought a shrinking pivot was a pivot smaller than the prior day. However, not every pivot that fits that definition is labeled as such. The "narrow pivot" I can't...

    The ACD Method

A grey box represents a "narrow pivot w a wide range day> 1.33 * Avg range of the past 20 days" That's the only thing that I am confused about. If every grey box was both underlined and bold, than a "narrow pivot" would be a shrinking and a pivot smaller than the prior 4 days. But, not every...

' He's keeping it to himself :( I just got my 30 day free subscription lol! When I get a couple hours tomorrow I am going to figure out that pivot tracker sheet. Won't be the funnest thing but going to look back at some of the past numbers and see if I can make them fit!

I've been watching IYR-XLE and even VNQ-XLE...looking good today too. These Real estate ETF's have held in nicely relative to most anything else.

Nice, Ya i like how you look at these spreads. Really gives a good picture of relative strength and weakness...really helps a guy like me. Helps to give perspective and provide context to the bigger picture.

This can be used for targets as well...i didn't think about like that, but gold would be a good example today if you expected a big move and didn't know where to take profits!

    The ACD Method

Gold is at the 3rd Standard deviation of the bollinger band on the daily. This doesn't happen that often. I am sure there are some bottom pickers that are taking heat right now! I made an indicator in TOS that looks at the ATR of the past n periods and plots a standard deviation band on top...

    The ACD Method

I totally agree with the latter statement John. Also alot of the time using hard stops can be tough with mean reversion approaches because momentum will be against you almost immediately entering into the trade. So you can shaken out of trades many times. I've tried using time stops with some...

From what I see, King you look to be more of a scalper. So you are doing all of this while reading the tape and taking your little chunks. Just a different way of looking at things relative to most people on this thread.

Ichi what!? You sticking with the statistical framework you had before right? I think that was a very good framework to work with.

Prop Trading (Any 1st hand experience?)

If there is training, ask about the incentive structure for the trainer. Is it comm. based or payout based. Almost always is comm., there is a high turnover in this business so dont be surprised if there is little to no training(unless your paying directly for it).
