WSBers playing with fire and getting burned: NKLA hard to borrow early assignments on call spreads

Also shows how much a broker can make here. Customer buys 100 shares of NKLA and he is happy that broker doesn't charge him a commission. Broker then makes $200 a day loaning his stock out.

WSBers playing with fire and getting burned: NKLA hard to borrow early assignments on call spreads

Assuming the stock at 65, that's 65 x 3.60 or $234 per year (per share) divided by 365 so .64 per day or $64 per 100 shares (or one assigned call). So that $192 for 3 days. So if he was assigned on 52 calls it would be about $10,000. Note that the short rate now is over 800%

TWS Time & Sales for combo trades?

These tags have been extremely helpful to me. I have a program that looks for certain types of spreads and with these tags I can filter out many trades. MLET would be the most common (Multi Leg Electronic Trade) for a spread, but now you can tell if it is a floor trade, traded against stock...

have you exercised options? tax implications how it is done

Well you just lost money. You could have sold your calls and bought the stock at the same time. You would have the exact same position you have now and made the extra time premium on the calls. By exercising you lost that premium.

have you exercised options? tax implications how it is done

If you want to get out of your position you would sell your option not exercise it. Exercising an option doesn't get you out of your position, it gives you long/short stock. If you exercise your option early it will cost you money vs selling it out as you will lose any extrinsic value your...

have you exercised options? tax implications how it is done

If you want to hold the stock why not wait until the option expires or sell the option and buy the stock. If you do that you won't give up any extrinsic value the option still has.

have you exercised options? tax implications how it is done

That makes absolutely no sense. If a stock falls below the strike price and you have exercised, you will keep losing money as you are long the stock. If you just have the calls, you will not lose anymore then the premium you paid. You will have all the upside but not the downside if you...

Two Sided Retail Market Making for Options

Bob, Is it your understanding that a non pro customer can be on both sides of the market if the orders are at different exchanges? So say you are bid on the CBOE and offered on the ISE? I have heard mixed opinions on this.

My firm helped me with it. As I remember you needed to log into the site every so often otherwise you needed to go through the whole process again to obtain a new password. This was several years ago. I was asked to do this as at the time I was trading a lot of time spreads with expensive...
