Sorry to hear about the loss, one has to be able to accept them. If not, you will constantly be tuning your strategy, compounding losses as you jump around with different systems.

I would agree that it is more profitable on a shorter time frame. That is because there is an incredible amount of economic variables that come into play, the longer you are in, the more irrelevant your original analysis becomes.

There's alot of factors that come into play. One is the data you are watching and whether it can be implemented into an algorithm. If it can, but you don't have the skill to do it, can you trust someone to write the software. Another is fees, will more trading be an advantage. If you do...
