    OIL $70, gas shortage coming

Oops. You probably meant shorting the S&P. I thought you meant shorting gas. My bad.

    Rollover dates of bond futures

No offense, but you guys really should read my old posts since I'm getting tired of answering this. I have an automated quantitivate system that trades the S&P 500 and 10-year Treasury Bond based on fundamental and technicals indicators. It's built in Excel and trades through IB. I am...

Finally the pm rallies are over !!!

Bond market closed today and the powers that be bid stocks up. They are up to their old tricks again.

    OIL $70, gas shortage coming

You may be right to short the market here. Or the market can go up another 20 cents tomorrow. Are you willing to take the risk?

    OIL $70, gas shortage coming

My brother says gas at our local Chevron went up 10 cents but they currently don't have any (all the other stations do). This is Phoenix and may be related to the pipeline problem we had last year. Either way, it's not good news.

corelation between intraday stock market and bond market

From Stock Market Wizards interview of Mark Cook: Another trade I do is the bond ratio trade. The bonds and S&P are like a couple. The bond market always leads, so it is the female, because the male always follows the female. When a couple first start to date, they don't know each other yet...

Without the Hurricane, would the market be up?

Are you kidding, areyoukidding? It was a major head fake, engineered by the Fed and the major brokerage firms. I wonder if they will try again later on today or tomorrow.

    IB Suggestions & Improvements

More of a bug than a suggestion. The ZN spread currently show -0'285 by -0'285, which is 28.5/32. But one of those should be -0'282 or 28.25/32. Spreads trade in quarters of the 32nds. Likewise, when I view my executions, it show -0'285 when I really executed at -28.25/32. Can you add the...

    Bears had their chance

I trade the SPX and not the Qs. However, the QQQQ looks weak to me as well. Check out that major bearish MACD divergence! I hadn't noticed that until now (I don't watch it). Thanks for pointing it out. Now I'm even more bearish.

    Bears had their chance

I'm up 14.9% this year. But you probably won't believe me.... In that case, I'm up 1,000%.

They showed on the news and oil rig stuck under a bridge in Mobile. They didn't say how far the rig moved to get there.

    Rollover dates of bond futures

Rolled over the future. Thank goodness I read ET. I didn't think I had to roll over until later in September, like with the S&P contract. From now on, I'll roll over two days before the first notice day. I could even roll over the day before, but I'll do it a day early just in case a...

    Bears had their chance

The market rises one day on the lowest volume in 3 months. All of a sudden, they think the trend has changed. Look at the long term chart. The trend is still lower. I actually like today's move from the bear side. It convinced a lot of "suckers" that the market is going up. Sentiment had...

    Rollover dates of bond futures

I set up reminders in Outlook so I won't forget. But I agree that we have to be extra careful with these bond futures, unlike the S&P. To help, I made the Bond Future Rollover calendar item extra large so I'll see it in advance.

Shorting Market or Long OIL, is Hoping Katrina gets WORSE and morally Problematic?

Because I built a system and it tells me when to trade. Besides, expecting the market to retrace is not the same as expecting it to "suddenly collapse."
