Hey all, Just thought I'd start a thread where people can post sectors, industries or stocks that are getting nailed right now, preferably potential positions that "may" turn around if held in a longterm position. I'll start with an obvious: Homebuilders.

Looking into the carry strategy as a way to diversify and add a long-term position to my portfolio. I'm looking for pairs that are "positive carry" and the correlation between them. Anyone have any ideas on a basket that is net-positive carry with directional movement minimized? cheers.

i support anything that will add more losers to the herd.

just watch intraday price action. put on a random position, if it worked, why did it work? if it failed, why did it fail? etc.

in my own experience, i've found that i've done my best trading by utilizing this simple psychological premise: if i'm long.. i will only close out the trade when i think i should short. if i'm short.. i should only really cover when i'm ready to go long. now, i've not always reversed...

i buy when i believe price is going up, and i short when i believe price is going down. this is eliteTRADER, isn't it? or is this eliteLongTermInvestorLONGONLY bias? wtf

Is support/resistance/trendlines considered technical analysis? I always put it in the category closer to price action. I always think of "technical analysis" as those dumb oscillators that don't work.

I'm not sure what platform you use, but I "snapped" the trendline to the lows.. meaning I didn't have much artistic license on it. It just snapped between the two lows. Shrug. It's true, there is always a question of how to approach drawing trendlines. Low to low? Close to Close? Low to...

Expensive lesson in using a max pain stop (at LEAST put a frickin' stop at the previous swing high or swing low!). I didn't find much humor in this. It reminded me of how I used to feel.. knowing I should cut the loss, hoping for some sort of market redemption that you know in your heart...
