    IB auto liquidation

Can someone please explain how this works if a trade occurs pre or post market that would reduce your equity below zero? Say, a single 100 lot goes off outside the market, will an auto-liquidation occur?Waht about a series of trades that occur pre- or post? Do they wait for the core session...

AHM - this ought to be good for Monday

If the Board declared the dividend they have a legal obligation to pay it. Or...they could file Chapter 11....

    The Opening Orders Thread

This is a strike for specialist profitability at the expense of everyone else and I personally feel it screws public shareholders of NYX in the long run. I haven't decided what to do other than to write to SEC.

    The Opening Orders Thread

Anyone who thinks this isn't a big deal is dead wrong. Stocks often open well away from their ARCA or ISLD trading. So, anyone who responds by saying that we already have indications based on ECN's hasn't been making money from the indications. This is one more thing to "...F**k the DOT's !"...

SLB, TYC, and MWA to open lower

Watch and learn....s&P up, these 3 open down. I guarantee it.

    Mwa

Maybe, but I will give you 10-1 odds it opens down substantially

SLB, TYC, and MWA to open lower

All 3 gapped up on the close substantially. TYC is trading well above the sum of the TYC when -issued securities. Look for all 3 to open down. MWA is a special case--a threshold security. The inability of most people to borrow this stock allowed the specialist to gap it over $2.50 at the close.

    New disclaimer from IB

Bob111, What specifically is wrong with your cash balances and positions? I seem to have a problem with futures p&L, and with marking of option positions. I assumed this would be self-correcting over a period of time but I haven't really checked it out to see. What I don't like is...

    Russell Rebalance Gaps

SLB gapped about $2 on the final print, from $87.20 to 89.20.

What market trades equity options past 4:00pm ET?

    Russell Rebalance Gaps

I see MWA gapped from 16.85 to 19.35 on the closing print---and IB is marking my short $17.50 calls at $2.25. Yet the stock print was well after 4:00. More like 4:10. Do options trade anywhere after 4:00?

How many Fridays in a row

It's 16, i think. Don't you guys know the market isn't permitted to go down on Friday, only occassionally on Monday (maybe 5%), and never on Thursday afternoon because it's always going to go up on Friday? So that leaves Tuesday and Wednesday, and Thursday morning.

Trading EFP's on IB--and their taxation

Does anyone else have the problem that the implied interest rates don't show up and IB can't figure out whY? Also, does anyone understand the taxation of these products? Are they taxed as two separate transactions--one as a futures trade and one as a stock trade?

    Bond Question

Thanks for all the great advice. It took a day or so for it all to filter in--insults included---but I am not offended. It wasn't that I didn't understand what duration is, but rather how it related to the futures contract in an effort to hedge. The idea of credit spreads widening and making...
