+1078, traded some NYSE coal stocks off the open and did pretty well in them. Made a couple good trades in WHR and thats pretty much it. Hardly traded the afternoon at all, found it very choppy.

If you want, I will post it tomorrow when i get in. I will tell you where I made my money today. Caught some very good moves in PGR, as well as a few very nice shorts in ACI and CNX before lunch. Thats all I can remember for now.

I disagree, once you've traded for a certain amount of time, then trading on intuition is really how you excel. Your intuition, assuming you have a sound system and are already consistent, can be the difference between good trading and great trading.

Trading is mostly mental but not 100%. If you actively daytrade and scalp the market you have to be lightening quick with hitting your keys, sending out markets, limits nx's whatever else. There is a lot of quick timing of your ins and outs, a split second too late and your losing 20 cents...

Tell me how much you enjoy Trading

Well, Im still pretty young and Im sure that trading and saving over the next 5 or so years will afford me to do something with some of my saving that will make me some extra income. Dont know what that is just yet but i agree, its nice to have a steady stream from somewhere else.

But i also trade full time, so I have a lot of time commited to the whole process. If you have multiple businesses, then its hard to fully concentrate on your trading, right?

The market really never changes, maybe volitility shrinks or expands, different sectors are hot and once high flyer no longer are. Or maybe even the mechanics (like the NYSE changes upcoming) become altered. The fact remains that stocks still move up or down and buyers and sellers drive these...

Any1 know any good NASDAQ stocks.

These stocks are fine to daytrade, you just have to size in in the right setups. 10k, 12k positions for 10-15 cents. Stuff like that. The ranges are tighter but that doesnt mean you cant make good money daytrading these issues.

So its not that you are bored when you are winning, rather you are afraid of messing up a good thing. That makes a lot more sense to me than the boredom statement. In an enviroment of unlimited opportunity, I think we all could do better than we are, so why not try and push it :)

Trading is the best, you get to challenge yourself each and every day and the only way to survive and excel is the be constantly evolving and adapting. Your earnings ceiling is as high or low as you make it. I cant imagine how the majority of people must feel when their alarms go off on...

How can you possibly get bored when you are "winning"? You may be experiencing success but I guarentee you could do a lot better than you are....we all could.

    not another scalping thread......!

I scalp NYSE issues, my holding period is usually 1-3 mins and I am able to make 10k a month. Let me just say that it is a very intensive way to make a living. It requires you to be patient but constantly be paying 100% attention waiting for those exact setups. Good thing I am only 26 because I...

    trading nyse specialists

Perhaps we are confusing ourselves here. First off, lifting offers means buying offers. The specialist "spread up" and thats where he satisfies the buyer and grouped your offer into the higher print. Now, he is allowed to sell his shares at 100.15 because that was an uptick. But he cannot hit...

How many cents can I expect to take out of the market?

Fatrat, I have posted this advice many times on multiple threads but i think this may apply to you as well. To be honest, stocks like DNA and BA are not for new traders to learn from. They are filled with tons of experienced pros whose goal it is to build big positions and whipsaw...
