The #RepublicanClassWar's New Front: Social Security for the Disabled

Same here in SC. Turn on the TV right around noon and we see the disability attorneys advertising as well as the usual car accident scammers. What's pathetic is that the disability ads sometimes say you can claim disability if you suffer from things like anxiety, high blood pressure, high...

I have to pay back my Obamacare subsidy

No, not working as intended. It might work better if people had choices on coverage/plans. Forcing coverages that people can not use is asinine. Allow more bare bones plans .. we do have some, although not many, people who are fit, healthy and eat properly. Why not allow them a CHOICE? No...

The #RepublicanClassWar's New Front: Social Security for the Disabled

There are a LOT of people who scam the system claiming disability. I know a person who has Graves disease, which can impact eyesight. Never mind though that the person earns a living as an artist and photographer. And this 'disability' brings in over $15K/year. And I believe if on disability...

Are you a successful at home day trader with no other source of income who began with modest means?

Silicon Investor was a good site back in the 90's into the 2000's .. but lots of posters disappeared over time as the market pulled back. Probably people who chased all the dot com stocks and felt the market was a one way ride (higher). I still recall some of the euphoria with certain tech...

Jindal to leave Louisiana's next governor with budget mess

Isn't Odumbocare his little baby? That is not funded in any way shape or form with 90% of people getting subsidies. Sorry but that's 100% his responsibility (and ultimate failure).

Ohh, then why does our total debt keep increasing? Spending > Revenues

Jindal to leave Louisiana's next governor with budget mess

So Jindal is like Odumbo? More than $1 billion of the shortfall on the horizon for the fiscal year that begins July 1 can be tied to Jindal's refusal to match the state's spending to its yearly revenue over his two terms in office. Much like Odumbo of spending more than revenues .... Hmmm, a...

Don't call him an idiot! Hell, that's a complement. Mental midget might be a better choice of words.

Wife Finally Wakes Up... "Unfriends" All Of Her POS Liberal, Odumbo, Commie Supporters... FAMILY 2!

A friend of my wife's has an app that tracks her two kids who are in college ... glad I'm not in college these days or my parents would have been mortified at how much time I spent in bars around campus. When I was an undergrad I think we had one pay phone in the dorm.

Are you a successful at home day trader with no other source of income who began with modest means?

I agree having some $$ put aside for expenses. Moving from a job with a fixed salary to trading where there is no guarantee of any income (and possibly even losing $$) is a big adjustment and one doesn't want to put any excess pressure on themselves early on in their trading career. It's...

Full time traders split of total between separate accounts

I split mine into 3 basic accounts (1) trading $150K so I have plenty of BP intra-day (2) account at another broker for longer term trades/investments (3) IRA $$$ in yet 2 more accounts (Traditional & Roth). And as you alluded to regarding risk ... I am more tolerant of drawdowns in the longer...

What happened to Bergdahl, the traitor

NBC says he'll be charged with desertion .... which was obvious from day 1. His fellow soldiers even said so. http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/01/27/us-usa-bergdahl-idUSKBN0L01XS20150127 But Odumbo has been trying to keep things quiet. We've never had a more pathetic President in my...

Are you a successful at home day trader with no other source of income who began with modest means?

Growing up I caddied at a country club. We had a member who was very wealthy, a horrible golfer (which he knew) but as nice a guy as you'd ever want to meet. And he tipped well since he knew his shots were all over the course. But in his late 50's he got cancer and passed away rather fast. All...

Are you a successful at home day trader with no other source of income who began with modest means?

True. I think each trader has a level of tolerance for risk. When I traded in an office in the late 90's we had one guy who would be trading 5K or 10K shares of DELL or any other tech stock. He had the stomach for wild swings and didn't flinch whether he made $40K in a day or lost $30K. I could...

Are you a successful at home day trader with no other source of income who began with modest means?

Well it's worked for me. I have 85 - 90% winning trades in a given year. And before I get questions on how I can have that high of a percent of winners it's what I alluded to earlier .. not going for home runs and taking small profits. And the fallacy in your statement above is that you're...

Are you a successful at home day trader with no other source of income who began with modest means?

Going for singles and doubles and not trying for home runs is the way to go IMO. Get in .. and out of a trade and capture just a small part of any move. I leave $$ on the table all the time. No one can pick optimal entry and exit points. But you can't go broke taking profits.
