Is Brent Crude What the Rest of The World Uses & CL What North America Uses?

I'm UK based, but I'd have to say WTI is THE benchmark that the world pays attention to, though people are noticing it's faults given the massive discount it is trading at the moment what with the limitation of Cushing's storage. Generally physical markets, though OTC, will have an agreed...

    Cqg

Hi all, We have recently signed up to CQG after having a month or so testing and I was wondering if anyone else on the forum has CQG? I would like to get in contact with fellow CQG users to help each other with issues with coding indicators or any other problems they have with the system...

    Huge Build in Crude Inventory

Yep. Incredible. Cushing is at capacity. which might explain why the crude front spread is nearly $5 discount. The whole European issue with NG from Russia is interesting. The spread between the Brent and WTI is widening further.

    Any chart for crack spread?

I've not had much experience of TS so I can't really say. As for a comparison between CQG and eSignal - they both do the same thing, and the data is good on both. I also don't trade from a charting package - I have a seperate trading application so can't comment on that. I steer towards CQG...

    Any chart for crack spread?

This one seems to work Good post. Easier to divide by 7.45 though fella!?! :) And generally do Feb to Feb rather than Jan / Feb? There is an actual traded contract on ICE which is chartable, but it won't be on any old charting package - You'll have to purchase something like eSignal or CQG...

Average daily range HO vs RB

Sorry mate! :) If I stick an average true range indicator on my front month RBOB and heating oil daily chart will that be what you're after? What 'lookback period' do you want the average over?

What's going on in the Jan/Feb Crude Spread?

Hi Jweb. Not too sure. It would be logical to think that they'd 'meet in the middle' wouldn't it, which would suggest a drop in the FEB contract, (which will be front month come monday). Looking at it from another angle.... and going back to the charting aspect. How will this appear on...

What's going on in the Jan/Feb Crude Spread?

Just spoke to a client. It's actually because of the delivery capabilities of Cushing. The storage tanks and pipeline are pretty much max'd out and already fully booked, so the standard cash and carry element that usually limits the extent of the contango is no longer possible. You can't take...

What's going on in the Jan/Feb Crude Spread?

I should clarify.... I mean Feb should come down in absolute terms, not that the spread will narrow necessarily. Can't believe it's -6.16 bid, @ -6.00 at the mo. Can anyone else explain such a big contango on the day of settlement? Is it literally that people need to get out of their longs...

What's going on in the Jan/Feb Crude Spread?

The Jan WTI goes off the board today on the ICE market, and tomorrow on Nymex. $5 is a pretty deep contango spread for the Jan / Feb. Logically it could 'gap up' if you were looking at a front month chart come Monday, but you have to feel that Feb will come closer down to Jan. If there's...

    OPEC Meeting 12/17

To be fair mate the RANsquawk quys will only be reading what was printed on Reuters. I was at my desk when it happened and Reuters news wire printed something like "OPEC confirm 4.2 mln barrel cut from September". They would have only read out that exact line, just like our Squawk service...
