    Options going long Japenese Yen

I would skip the ISE currency options. I haven't checked in a while, but I'm sure the spreads are pretty wide. Think about it ; only one exchange quoting ; there is no competition or incentive to lower spreads. I would look into FXY possibly, but I haven't looked at the spreads there in a while.

Why are some stocks not shortable?

TOS says ROYL is "easy to borrow" , and they use penson, same as MB.

320M of 370M barrels needed on NYMEX for July delivery canceled ahead of today’s exp

And we all know that FDX and UPS use straight oil to fill up their planes. You know, in the same fantasy land where we fill up our cars with light, sweet crude oil...... They use custom tailored OTC contracts.

Question about option level 2 from a newbie

Simply not true. I agree the rates are on the high side for futures, but they will negotiate.

    Ice down

ICE Participant: ICE regrets Thursday's trading system outage and apologizes for the market interruption. The cause of the outage was the erroneous shutdown of power by a third party to the portion of the Chicago data center housing ICE' systems. All customers in that portion of the data...

    Ice down

Works fine for futures, but if you are doing OTC, you're pretty much SOL. $6 spreads with a contract that has a qty of 800 is not unusual.

    optionshouse: Good? Bad?

Tried out the platform, hated that it was strictly web based. If your doing tons of contracts every trade, more power to you, I couldn't stand it though.

coal spot prices and coal futures

If you are willing to shell out, try LIM. They are a data repository, and have tons of info on OTC stuff. You still have to pay for their platform and the data (say platts for instance), but they've got more energy stuff than you can shake a stick at.

The AMEX FRO (Fixed Return Options) Thread

Please do, spreads on what one would assume would be liquid (QQQQ, DIA) are not exactly tight..

    ssf newbie

I don't think that page link you provided is right perhaps? I know its onechicago's website, and I know SSFs are thin, but pretty sure there is SOME volume there. OCC says they traded 3199 contracts yesterday. http://www.theocc.com/market/vol_data/main/exchange_volume.jsp

Seeing the entire limit open order book

Using Webice (ICE exchange) lets you see the entire book. I know its true for the OTC stuff I work with and with their crude market. Pretty sure its the same story with nat gas.

Who gets executed first in this situation

Adding QTY is basically the same as cancel/replace, at least with what I trade. I agree with balda.
