The upside seems like the path of least resistance right in here. And yes I'm long the share market. Regards, Dr. Zhivodka

    Payroll and bonds

Absolutely right. Should be a monster number. Shares should have a good day, Bonds ...well ..not so good.

    Today's BONDS!

Check your charts mate. The USD has not been going down. And the curve is getting flatter. At some point one must move away from conventional wisdom. The earlier the better. Take it for what you will I'm out.

    Today's BONDS!

Just the opposite. As the "Carry Trade" comes unwound it puts upward pressure on the USD and downward pressure on Bonds as the yield curve flattens. IMO, a "flatten curve " play is good to go for awhile. But hea, that's just me. Regards, Dr. Z

    Today's BONDS!

At this point it's almost irrelevant. The Bond market has taken the matter in its own hands, thank goodness. I've been short Bonds since the third week in March. It's been a great ride so far with a lot left to go in it. This is probably an eighteen month long trade. Had they tightened...

whatever happened with Green Tree Trading?

I'm referring to Greentree of course as was ertrader. The title of the thread refers to Greentree, is there some confusion here? ertrader is welcome to express his opinion here just like everyone else. However in this case his opinion about Greentree's proprietary futures trading group was...

whatever happened with Green Tree Trading?

Wow, you sound like one bitter young man. You should check your assumptions though. Those who are hired as employees to work in our proprietary futures trading group will trade firm capital and they have the same responsibilities and opportunities as would any employee of any true...

    Deflation

In an effort to fish this thread out of the septic tank: Pabst, Are you putting on any of these spread plays in the Backwardation markets? They always revert back to their normal state ....someday....don't they.

    Today's BONDS!

"Deflation" Possibly. There's no question the Bond market has discounted much of the conventional wisdom (and I use that term loosely) However, you can't continue to have everything from steel to soybeans to plastics to shipping rates to base metals to energy to lumber and health care...

    Today's BONDS!

Prices for productive inputs are going the roof, all of them. It's only a matter of time before they show up in the inflation aggregates. That is assuming of course they still plan on releasing them in the future (as in where the f*** is the PPI?) A lot of this crazy bond move is due to...

    Eurex Comes to US Markets

I don't know if they will or not but one thing is for sure it is WAAAAY too early to tell who will win this battle. Plus, now that the CBOT has dropped their fees it could be just a slower race to the alter with the CME for them. Either way we're all paying less to trade the curve now...

    Advice

An addendum to the above: One word of caution: One of the things you're likely to experience in your life is that of unrequited love. That is to say that if deep down inside you REALLY have a burning desire to be a trader it's likely then that you will ending up doing something, anything...

    Advice

Hey kid, Screw these naysayer's. You'll be surprised at what you can achieve when you really want to. Follow your dreams. I did. I started in the business late, I was 25. I'm much older than that now. I've always regretted not starting at 18. You're going to be fine either way...

    China currency revaluation

Yet another ET'er who apparently feels the need to resort insults in order to elevate himself. I had hoped for more. Another in a long line of reasons why this forum is a worthless waste of time.

    China currency revaluation

Yeah, I saw that too. But I dismissed it as the Straits Times has always been rather inflammatory and not a great source of quality information, plus if I'm not mistaken it's based in Singapore, thus the term "Straits." They're just speculating, just like everyone else. Even if we...

    China currency revaluation

If inflation really does begin to pick up substantially you could get short the yield curve for the mother trade of a lifetime. A trade like this might last ten years or more. But so far the Bond market is saying "Sorry, but we ain't buying this reflation play yet Messer's Bush and...

    China currency revaluation

What makes you think they're going to do this soon? Of course they will ultimately be forced to revalue the peg or let it float entirely. But I'm very skeptical that this will occur "in the next few months" as you suggest. Do you have any new information that would suggest otherwise...

    any trader with military training???

Correction: They're are no "ex-marines" only former Marines. From the Fleet Marine Force protecting America from the blinding white light to the battles of Wall Street ....and I've loved every minute of it. Semper Fi Dr.Z

CBOT to Reduce Transaction Fees for U.S. Treasury Products

It's a wonder what a little competition will do. These guys sit on their fat asses until EUREX US comes to town then all of sudden they find that they can drop rates. Whaddya know! Better late than never I suppose.
