Goldman Sachs: Pic of the day

No you don't get it. They first made the mistake of lending to people who couldn't afford it, all while "loser" Americans decided to take the loans they couldn't afford. Then investment banks needed to insure their shitty loans through companies that didn't even have the money to back it up or...

Goldman Sachs: Pic of the day

OK. I've heard them justify the amounts they make because they "work really hard around there." I've seen people in manufacturing shops work harder and sacrifice much more. The real people who are hurting are people doing jobs in places where you would be too much of a baby to even step foot...

Goldman Sachs: Pic of the day

My problem is that they don't do anything good for the average American. They don't produce anything usable for anybody. Goldman Sach does not increase the standard of living for anyone else and on top of it they get rewarded for irresponsible behavior and a slap on the wrist. Whereas any...

Wave of staff suicides at France Telecom

That was fairly entertaining. Got any more?

We are in deep trouble as a nation because "smart guys work on Wall Street"

Careless behavior caused the collapse. I've got one sentence for him... hell I can do one better and put it in a single word: Credit.

    GPU accelerated high-frequency trading

Thanks for the insight! Interesting article you posted too, fairly tough to understand though hah. Brings me back to my computer architecture class days. Is that (math or physics) your background? Is there a good place to start for someone without a lot of experience(books or anything)...

    Steve Wynn is right!

This reminds me of the Ross Perot/Al Gore debates for some reason. Where Perot actually knew what he was talking about but Gore was a blabbering dipshit. Lady = Blabbering Dipshit I really don't think Obama has a chance for a 2nd term but we'll see. Anyways I'm voting Ron Paul

    GPU accelerated high-frequency trading

Does anyone here actually use this stuff? If so, how in the world would you get started? I actually have a degree in EE but when all this technology meets financials/high-frequency trading, I feel like a lost puppy. How do you even get started in this?

GE Receives 10,000 Applications in 3 Days For 90 Factory Jobs Paying $13 An Hour

hah you're right about that. Reminds me of a chapter in a book I read: "The Well-Chosen Average" from "How To Lie With Statistics." It's old, but a pretty good book.

Windows 7 Will Let Microsoft Track Your Every Move - Webmonkey

The founder of Sun Micro is pretty worried about it: http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/8.04/joy.html

Windows 7 Will Let Microsoft Track Your Every Move - Webmonkey

I'm pretty sure this is true. It's hard finding information about it though. But I've heard the same thing multiple times. The Gov. made a deal with Microsoft to obtain information from its users, and would in return give Microsoft a slap on the wrist.

AP: For young, recession offers deals of a lifetime

Nah, how it turns out is that they're all a bunch of crooks. I feel one of the ways to avoid these issues is to get rid of bi-partisan politics completely.

+1 Am in the same boat and feel the exact same way.

AP: For young, recession offers deals of a lifetime

Yes this is really true. The new generation is filled with people that just plain don't care, don't care about anything except wasting time. There's no nobility in knowledge or curiosity anymore.

    Short AMD

Exactly what I was going to say. Price to performance AMD is still very competitive. I was there when AMD came from nothing to compete with Intel in the race to 1 GHz. Back then Intel was slowing upgrading their processor speeds and charging lots of money for it. All of a sudden AMD comes...

Being destitute in America is a crime?

Interesting read. I think it's time we start asking how the average American can fix this mess. How could the middle and poor class come together to solve the problems in America? Eventually something has got to happen.

Unemployment %, come to your own conclusion

Employers? More like too many HR middlemen/women. Get rid of those fuckheads first then get some talent in there. Also get rid of the people(businessment) who sold us out so many years ago to foreign countries. Hell there's a ton of waste in American corporations.
