    RIAA suing file swappers

Overpricing is not the problem. Any savvy consumer knows where to get CDs for around $13 on the internet. Album prices have remained relatively consistent throughout the past few decades (factoring inflation) but the industry began it's slump years before file-sharing. The real problem is...

Can anyone give some tips on Series 7 exam?

There are about 15 STC practice tests that come with the book and includes answers. Do not study ANYTHING that is not written by the Securities Training Corporation. It's a waste of time! I strongly recommend the following strategy: 1. DON'T READ THE BOOK. The only section you need to...

    RIAA suing file swappers

I've probably downloaded and shared over 1000 songs. I'm expecting a lawsuit with my name on it pretty soon. Any advice from the legal pundits?

Anyone else find video games help reflexes?

Video game reflexes are more suited for quick-trading scalpers, where speed is crucial. It's not that relevant for systematic longer-term traders.

    Golden Market Management

Well, I think trading is both an art and a science. Rebate trading in its pure form is really just a test of one's patience.

    Golden Market Management

Doesn't include SEC taxes. Only commissions. Rebates are minimal because I don't add much liquidity. I'd rather pay the offer in a stock that's moving up than try to get hit on the bid. Usually if I get hit on the bid in a volatile stock, then the momentum is petering out and I shouldn't be...

    Golden Market Management

I'll take you on! My best trading day was $28K on 65000 shares. It was 2 years ago, but you didn't specify a time limit! :D

I understand your view. Rebates are a good vehicle for keeping costs down. But when you design a trading system around rebates, then I have to disagree with you.

    Golden Market Management

Try trading stocks like Ebay instead of those candy-ass penny stocks. You don't need to write 400K shares to make good money! Just be selective and trade the ones that MOVE! Believe me, I'd rather take a 2000 share Ebay position than a 100,000 share WCOM position! P.S. What's the...

    Golden Market Management

Like I said, the money may be good but you're not learning real directional trading. Plus, I'm going to be trading for a long time whereas the bid/offer jocks will probably burn out in a year!

    Golden Market Management

I don't think it's the best deal out there! I pay about 0.6 cents of a share (all in) and I get 90% payout. The true ECN costs are around 0.4 cents of a share, and the rebate is only significant if you do the volume. My volume is around 30-40K a day and a rebate would be insignificant for me...

    Golden Market Management

Do these people call themselves traders? Seems like a gimmick to me and doesn't require any knowledge of the stock market. Plus, it sounds boring as hell! What happens when they do away with rebates and these people never really learned how to trade? It's better to learn how to trade real...

Nearly Random Entry vs a High Probability Entry

It doesn't matter what instrument you trade. Random entries and lack of selectivity will kill your account in commissions. Unless you trade something that doesn't have commissions! If you trade an instrument randomly throughout the day and apply sound risk management and solid exit...

Nearly Random Entry vs a High Probability Entry

29 pages debating the merits of a random entry method and no one has mentioned the obvious: A random entry method is not profitable over the long-term because of COMMISSIONS! Sure, you could throw darts at a bunch of stocks and initiate positions (even if the stocks just flat-lined for most...

    DMI/ADX consistently works

To scalp for a small move (under a nickel), I just read the tape and Level 2. I'm usually correct around 70% of the time. Why would you need other indicators? I would think the indicators you guys are talking about are for longer-term trades with much higher profit potential.

    DMI/ADX consistently works

So how do you use DMI/ADX indicators on the 80% of the trading days when the market is non-trending? Is it useful for little intra-day scalps or do you just switch to oscillator indicators?

You guys better ease up on the detailed, useful information. The moderators on this board don't like that kind of stuff.
