    Usd/chf,Eur/usd - Tech.error or information about FOMC decision?

    Must have been an error. 20 minutes later, their displayed rates are back around late Friday levels and consistent with Oanda's.

    Which Brokers Like Oanda offer sub units?

    Well, the ECNs do, more or less. For non-ECNs, here's one reason why: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=868937#post868937

    Which Brokers Like Oanda offer sub units?

    Oanda appears to be the only forex dealer with 1 unit minimum trade size and 1 unit increments, up to 10 million units. Interactive Brokers IDEALPro offers unit increments, but with a 25,000 minimum trade size. Another unit sizing dealer was mentioned by ElectricSavant on ET a month ago...

    Any good forex signals service ?

    Here's something potentially far more useful than a single "good forex signals site": a free / non-commercial review of dozens of them: http://www.fx-review.com/ Enjoy your homework.

    DayTrade Signals with Harris Tech

    Your journal has certainly been entertaining and informative to follow. Practically usable? Afraid not in the currencies, which is all I trade. It's just not specific enough. If anyone has been able to make money from your currency calls, my hat's off to them. My sense from the beginning...

    Fading ET or just ignoring it completely.

    ktm, thanks for reminding me. Yes, I've used that button occasionally, as a compromise of sorts. As you know, it clears the deck completely, in terms of unread posts throughout all ET forums, by its very design. Not what one would necessarily want, though OK sometimes.

    Fading ET or just ignoring it completely.

    Sure you can. Just go to an individual forum before clicking on any threads. For example: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=1 I do that all the time. Another key advantage of doing it that way: the "new posts" icon does not work well on the main Forums page...

    Forex Brokers with trading from the charts capabilities

    None. Normal EUR/USD spread is 3 pips at each of those 3 dealers (1.5 for Oanda).

    Forex Brokers with trading from the charts capabilities

    Oanda, FXDD, GFTforex and FX Solutions, to name just 4, all let you place and manage trades directly from the chart. I believe there are many more.

    How to devolp a system?

    Actually, as Cable pointed out above, you'll find the entire contents of this book right here on ET: http://www.elitetrader.com/tr/ Also, there are any number of books on trading system development, some of which are actually not bad; just do a search on, well, Amazon. My top...

    Rsk management

    This question came up earlier this month: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56698 You'll take comfort in knowing that none of the 4 books on my short list require numerical literacy beyond basic, high school math.

    Goals--->50 pips!

    The original call was a loser, of course; not surprising for such a low-probability, high-risk, unrealistic-stop entry. However, he "saved the day" by cutting the original TP nearly in half, from 33 to 20, and taking the 20. A good example of what not to do, IMO.

    How many pips/week is "Killing it" in FX?

    Hmm... 200? 500? I must be really scraping the bottom at this forex trading thing. How about twenty-seven? As in lowly 27 pips per week average P/L. Combine that with startlingly low (many would say) leverage ranging from 4:1 to 9:1 (depending on the currency pair), and you'll have...

    Goals--->50 pips!

    We've had a 150-pip decline, 1.4 x ATR on Friday, with no meaningful intra-day retracement yet. Are you seriously suggesting a trend continuation short entry essentially at the Friday close and a miniscule (for euro) 10-pip stop loss, prior to the Sunday open? This is not a high-probability...

    Questions concerning FX Futures

    Not quite, your computation underestimates true futures leverage. You neglected to multiply the 125,000 contract size in euros by the EUR/USD exchange rate. That's needed to get the contract size in USD, the same as the minimal exchange margins you quote. So, yes, the leverage employed...

    Very scarce Darvas book

    To the original poster: just take advantage of an interlibrary loan. What's the big deal? It's not exactly a 16th-century Guttenberg manuscript. :cool: If it's an American book published in 1971, many US libraries will have it. See your local, friendly librarian... quest over. No flying...

    System Development with acrary

    Outstanding thread so far, Alan, thanks. As an ex-buy side quant, I am enjoying it a lot. Sorry, but I am more than a little confused by that reply of yours from a few days ago. Maybe you can help? In the first paragraph, you talk about getting the systems to plug in (in a multi-system...

    Refco FX account withdrawl frozen!!!

    I think you've somehow managed to miss the extreme irony of my post. "Trust us" is obviously not my claim. I was referring to the general, whether explicit or implied, marketing message from many forex dealers, operating, as it were, in an unregulated marketplace / business environment.
