    MSFT Ipod Killer...

MSFT has been very successful at introducing online updates of XP, which a lot of users have automated. A couple more years like this and they are on their way to introducing a subscription model to their OS, which will erase piracy. Of course, they will still have OS competition from Apple...

    For you Equity Daytraders.

Why would the number of shares have anything to say to anyone else but your broker or propshop-owner? It's the bottomline that counts. If you make a good living with high volume; great - if you do it with low volume then that's also great. There's also a huge difference between trading a 5...

    Trader Personality & Trading Performance

In advance, I have to apologise. But everything I got out of this article was blah blah blah. However I believe strongly that personality traits have a huge impact on the performance of traders. Sorry :) It's the chablis speaking on a hot summer night.

Does everyone have CNBC turned on while trading ?

I keep Bloomberg on with the sound down. Or channels with music videos at lunchtime.

I also trade in very much the same way, although I exclusively focus on Norwegian stocks. Up 200% so far this year, so it's working well for me :)

I'm interested to see if Any hedge funds use...

This isn't related to hedge funds, but in Norway a variety of structured products are being sold by big banks to the unsophisticated investors. Basicly the products are a great way to hide costs, and offer a "safe" way to gain exposure to a risky bet. The principal is guaranteed, and since it's...

excellent post, late apex - something I've been planning to do for my own trading account for a looong time.

Which trading goal is best and why?

I'm an equity trader myself, but I totally agree with spike500 here. My personal goal is 5% return on my account per month, and sometimes I crush that target, sometimes I go negative. As long as the general trend of your equity curve is sloping the right way (up!), you're not a failure and can...

United Nations Wants to Tax You!

You're just posting this article for laughs, right? You're not seriously believing this crackpot writer's unsubstantiated claims? Funny in a way, but when you start to think there's people who take this stuff seriously one has to start wondering...

Marines killed Iraqis ‘in cold blood’

I wonder why you klanboys never advocate human rights or how war crimes should be prosecuted and punished? And what does this have to do with US bashing? Pointing out the fallacy of US politics doesn't mean that the USA as such is bad. You're blessed with corrupt politicians, that's your problem.

Marines killed Iraqis ‘in cold blood’

Perhaps someone who died on 9/11 was a serial killer in hiding, and actually "deserved" it? Or an ex-CIA OO officer responsible for assassinations in a third world country? Why the f... do you start asking maybe this or maybe that? Where the hell does that come from? Maybe some of the US...

Whats the best platform for ES trading?

The point is that it's not a charge. A charge is deducted from your account. The USD 1969 is just the requirement to hold a contract, and is of course unlocked in your account again when you close the contract position (in addition to adding/subtracting your net profit/loss from the trade)...

What's the worst drawdown you can handle?

Intereresting thread. I should add that I can take some extreme positions, and that the previous week added 33% to my account :) So, I have high volatility in my P&L, and thus have to face losing big bucks once in a while. My current motto is: One cannot live off Sharp-ratio alone :) (I...

What's the worst drawdown you can handle?

No, it was continous trading - I just had to pull myself together. I notice sometimes I get too relaxed with the markets, then I always give some profit back.
