I'm looking to do prop...I found Simplex out of Chicago. They do options as opposed to strictly equity, which seems to be what Bright Trading and Tuco do.
The Tuco location certainly is nice!
If you're looking to share an office, PM me, maybe we can chat in more detail.
If anyone is up...
Another SD trader here...mostly index options and single stock options. I trade my own $$
I'd be interested in a little meet & greet as well. Rock Bottom maybe?
Any thoughts on Tuco?? It seems like Bright Trading is the closest shop...in Irvine.
Since options aren't margineable to retail guys, are there prop shops that will let you trade options? And if so, can you hold your positions indefinitely?
thanks
So I have cash and instead of opening a retail account at IB or ThinkorSwim, I hand it over to BrightTrading LLC and they loan me $1m...
I'm kinda clueless so please help me understand the business of Prop Trading. Am I an employee, an indy, client?
Fed purchased $41b worth of 'high-quality' collateral from the member banks.
If anyone can provide a link to the actual details of the purchase, I'd greatly appreciate it
Like stated before, IV adjusts on Friday. Fama/French did empirical research that proved vol was driven by trading more than news...this is why models use 252 trading days instead of 360/365.
Would you suggest using the underlying at all?
I suppose closing the one leg out until after announcement will help, but the vol will be completely different.
Any ideas?
Portfolio looks like this:
short SPY NOV 157 call, long SPY NOV 161 call
short SPY NOV 142 put, long SPY NOV 138 put
I'm almost positive the Fed will cut by 25 bps on Tues, thereby causing a drift upwards passed by critical point of 157.
