Are we close to a top?

It's possible Ivan, but it's also possible that those who are STILL long at these levels are the suicidal ones. I am concerened if the market does break out to the upside fast. It's HIGHLY possible. Over this weekend I'm trying to develop a plan of action to factor this in. I'm levered...

Are we close to a top?

I'm with you on that one. I think it's POSSIBLE we are going to get a major surprise and alot of people are going to get caught on the wrong side of this market. Up or Down - nobody knows. I swear, it's the most UNCERTAIN environment right now. Won't you guys agree? Remember a few years ago...

Are too many people predicting Dow 6000

Exactly, I would argue that the public DOESNT think the market will fall that hard.

Signs of shift away from WTI

You can always guarantee they will exaggerate everything to death.

Is Brent Crude What the Rest of The World Uses & CL What North America Uses?

And right now, are we in this sate of disconnect? Is the spread between the two widening. Also, if you can talk briefly about the contango between CL contracts - and how is that trend going right now? I haven't been following it.

CNBC & Wall Street Were Expecting an Obama Rally - It Naver Came, Now What?

Guys I'm sure you can look back and remember the optimism of the talking heads that were predicting an Obama rally into tommorow. Well, it seems we never got it. Nobody has a crystal ball, but does anyone get a strange feeling in your stomach like we may possibly crash through the low and...

    DXO/DTO Traders out there?

I really think all of these are a bad substitute for the NYMEX oil. Are you a futures trader?

Exchange Traded Notes & Credit Risk

Ya bud - but honestly I don't really like trading USO or DTO or DXO. I really beleive if you want to trade oil, you have to trade the NYMEX oil, it's the only way to go. The liquidity is simply INSANE in that market. In all the time when I was trading oil, in hundreds of trades, I probably...

Exchange Traded Notes & Credit Risk

Thanks guys this helps to explain it to me. These ETNs are a little strange. Illiquid? Are these new brainstormed financial instruments that will blow up one day like the mortgage shit?

    DXO/DTO Traders out there?

I find this DXO thing strange - like you said it doesn't track CL in the same manner as USO tracks CL. Do you think by any chance it tracks Brent? Oil has been making lows lately but has anyone noticed the DXO really hasn't been following in the same manner? I have positions in DXO, but...

This has already been discussed to death.

Green on the 1/4% Trading Tax

Don't worry about it guys, worse comes to worse, I can help set you guys up in Toronto, you don't need to end your trading over something so simple. The Canadian exchange wouldn't follow the americans. In fact, the financial people in the Canadian government will see it as an opportunity for...

Green on the 1/4% Trading Tax

I don't think you have anything to worry about - I don't think Wall Street would allow it, they've known since the beginning of the exchange that the system doesn't work without short-term speculators...all they have to do is go back in history and see what happened when they did try it. True...

Green on the 1/4% Trading Tax

They (Hedge Funds, Inst.) may do that but in a way they would be shooting themselves in the foot. If the speculators move away, these hedge funds won't be able to get in & out as easily. Liquidity will dry up - and it'll hurt them in the end.

What are we going to do about speculation keeping oil prices down?

Oh no the blame game again. Blame the speculators for high oil - now blame the speculators for low oil. Haven't you learnt yet that the speculator premium has always been factored into the price?

Exchange Traded Notes & Credit Risk

Can someone explain to me if ETNs could be more risky than ETFs? For example let's compare USO & DXO...ignore the leverage part of DXO. The risk I am talking about is the possibility of losing all your capital.

Is it Lower Cost to Short SPY vs SH ETF?

Actually winston can you explain to me how dividends work with the ETFs? When I short SPY sometimes I pay dividends if holding over the dates. What happens with the 100% Inverse S&P500 ETF if you bought an equal amount of shares of this instead?
