Sorry Don---I do like and respect you, but IT IS a big deal. Credit/debit are extemely important and you might not think it is a big deal, but it is a huge revenue source for clearing firms and broker/dealers. Those small little percentages mean a lot to big traders and those small numbers...

It is extemely hard to get of option positions unless you either a. want to hit the other side of a big spread or b. have the stock moving your way fairly quickly. Otherwise, you are basically screwed.

You can short IPO's on the open day. It all depends on who your broker and clearing firm are and what they let you do. Believe me, you make it worth their time and it is done.

Are you positive that it isn't your order that is being posted? Maybe your order shows up as pse.

Desk fee? Do they really charge a desk fee? That by itself is the number one ripoff in this business. They should be ashamed of themselves especially considering 15" monitors and substandard equipment. Any good firm today has no such thing as a desk fee. HA!

Gooney, look around there are alot of different quality firms in Chicago (I have heard) and remote. There is no reason at all to pay those kinds of commission rates.

I must add in one point regarding redi and that is redi does have a fantastic system for option execution. It is solid and reliable.

Joe Battipaglia has to be #1 worst.

I have found protrader to be very conceited and really not that knowledgeable about their business. I do not think I would trader there based upon the few thoughts thrown around in here.

these firms make ALOT of money marking up the ecn's.

I found the simplest and best thing to do is just use Island....no matter what just bid or offer a penny above or below and use isld.

Daytrading will always be around in some form or another, and yes there will always be winners-----and losers.

I have heard that their system is extremely slow for scalpers to use. I have also heard the people that work there and fairly uneducated in terms of the market.

what is the deal with protrader? is it a good firm? i have heard some bad things about them.
