I you are a scalper or daytrader then there are other markets that are better, but if you are a position trader then it is certainly a market that you can trade alongside dax, smi, eurostoxx etc.

These types of platforms may be fine for testing short term strategies but how on earth can you test positions trading strategies where the net interest rate carry *can* become an issue?

I trade 3m EDs vs 2yr notes & 5yr note futs. Also trade euribor vs schatz and bobl futs.

We currently do all our backtesting (including FX) in Excel. You could generate your "signals" in metastock in the form of an exploration and then copy/paste into excel. Obviously a batch programming type software (such as winbatch) would help automate the process.

Maybe you are right. I am short from 779 and I have a target of 735 by the end of this week and 708 by mid/late May. My stop is at 779.

Covered yesterdays 774 short at B/E. Now left with my earlier short @779 and have lowered it's stop to B/E. View remains unchanged, just some position management.

Added to my short at 779. Stop at 786.50 on both tranches (774+779). Rates beginning to back up, oil rising, copper breaking through resistance on LME and COMEX.

Running some models on recent moves in various timeframes I think the following: A move back above today's highs and I think we are looking at a sustained move towards 820. But a correction below 740 and I think we visit 708. Best case scenario though is for choppy action between 740 and 780.

Assuming you are NOT a US equities trader then do yourselves a favour; if you MUST watch cnbc then you should be watching the UK and Asian broadcasts. These are available in the US depending on your cable provider.
