    Another $1k winning day... finally

No way haha. But I’m hoping I can tell educators what I would look for in a recruit (trader/analyst) and maybe they can teach them the basics. :D

    Another $1k winning day... finally

I don't think most of the people who attend Moneyshow or buy retail trading education programs know what they are up against or what they need. The legit day traders of the early internet age found ways to extract money from the system -- they were not trading chart patterns or price action. If...

How to use your margin with low risk?

Find high sharpe trades and lever up. For example, if you think Ford will outperform GM, go long F / short GM using a beta ratio to set $ exposure (if Ford beta is 2 and GM beta is 1, you need 2x GM shorts to manage your Ford beta).

    Another $1k winning day... finally

@KCalhoun what are the kinds of things you would teach your students? Coming from a professional background (investment bank, asset manager, hedge fund), I have assumed that all "stock educators" are the equivalent of astrology gurus (don't know much about stars, but can sell a story). At...

If you were given 5x the buying power, would you trade 5x bigger?

Yes I'd lever 6x on my pairs trades (high sharpe).

Do any prop shops/firms have an edge?

"Buy side" means that a firm manages money (like a hedge fund or asset manager), as opposed to "sell side" (like an investment bank), which is a firm that makes a market and provides liquidity. In an institutional context, legit prop shops like Jane Street or Timber Hill, use their own money to...

It was a joke dude. You’re a novice trader trying flex on people who’s daily pnl is greater than your net worth. No need to impress anyone, just try to learn.

Overnight asks - Does Anybody Here Have Stops in Their Mutual Fund or ETF Fund? For Cryin' Out Loud!

It’s not that easy. Brazil is a major beef exporter, and so you’ll have to factor in exchange rates and production globally. Welcome to the markets — nothing here is easy. :)

Any daytraders get their numbers Today?

Unfortunately very few trades are easy lol. I needed to add beta exposure to my portfolio, to offset the heavy short positions I held through last week. The SPY trade contributed less than 1/8th of today’s pnl.

Overnight asks - Does Anybody Here Have Stops in Their Mutual Fund or ETF Fund? For Cryin' Out Loud!

You need to manage your drawdown and roll risk. There's no such thing as a free lunch. Beta timing using futures is one thing, but trying to mimic a long only portfolio with futures is a recipe for disaster. I'm licensed and this is financial advice. :|

If you are a day trader with a persistent edge, are you a millionaire yet?

Some people want to dream that 180% annually is a modest target for scalpers (LOL!!!!!!!) ...:vomit:

If you are a day trader with a persistent edge, are you a millionaire yet?

except that such systems don't work because the return premia gets arb'd out over time. The only successful day traders out there supply liquidity during shocks and are great at doing that, but it's not a system that you described, and it is not an easy strategy to run. And most of those guys...

Any daytraders get their numbers Today?

I don't really use charts for idea generation. I have multiple positions and each with their own timeframe, none based upon a chart pattern or such. I did get about 1.2k spy on Friday by exercising ITM calls lol:
