SEC Questions Trading Crusade as Market Makers Disappear

as it says in the report. maximum liquidity when no one wants to do anything. when the market all wants to buy or sell at the same time - guess what. no liquidity as every algo bullshit company pulls its orders.

How GM Made $30 Billion Appear Out of Thin Air

NICE - nothing like some good old creative accounting. It will be a long time before General Motors Co. can shake the stigma of being called Government Motors. Here’s another nickname for the bailed-out automaker: Goodwill Motors. Sometimes the wackiest accounting results are the ones...

    Paul Rotter in 2010

trading conf / bund. that spead cost most locals everything about 2 years ago. it is not a spread it is 2 outrights. my opinions on spreads is that in this current algo dominated market nothing is correlated. most correlated spreads are having larger ranges than the...

    Paul Rotter in 2010

thanks interesting article. i quite like his repsonse to this question. i must agree with him - i think this is a big issue. TraderDaily: Long Term Capital Management’s Andrew Meriwether said in an interview with Michael Lewis that the downfall of LTCM was partly the result of copycat...

    FGBL Stopped Trading?

CORRECT. nothing in the us shut down on that particular night. i remember eurex did not shut but very little traded. eurodollars and treasuries are a much better trade. liffe and eurex with rsj is just a rigged game. coupled with the exchanges stupidity its a no go. im not...

    FGBL Stopped Trading?

what concerns me most about it is are they being dictated to, to turn the parameters off by other high volume users ( eg algo companies ) as it suits their style of trading and hence they cant lose.

    FGBL Stopped Trading?

thanks for the info. bit worrying that such parameters were not updated for such an important event. you would think this would be a given. the more i think about it if this kind of decision making is going expect more problems. really worrying such a major exchange would not do this.

    FGBL Stopped Trading?

not really the case at all. the last time we had a conversation with out supposed account manager must be 3 years ago. i challenge you to get through to anyone at eurex who gives a fuck. they are so far up their own arse it reminds me of the last days of the third reich in the bunker...

    FGBL Stopped Trading?

as i said before i think the volume traded is a bad indicator as most of it is crossed up nonsense. the real figure to look at is product fee income on a month to month basis plotted against the volume then you can work out what is crossed and what is genuine.

    FGBL Stopped Trading?

the eurex algorithm for volatility interuptions is apparently 30 ticks. thats the same for bobl as well. basically its an admission there is no depth in the order book any more and the supposed liquidity you see is an illusion. hence this must be the 4th closure inside of 2 months...

    FGBL Stopped Trading?

yep it was perfectly timed when liquidity was most needed. obviously our dear algo liquidity providers were nowhere to be seen. hopefully they will will all die along with their own children so they can no longer cheat there way round these markets. vol interuption. what a...

Legacy of the 'Flash Crash': Enduring Worries of Repeat

hft is the new bubble and we are in it big time. companies invested huge in this. banks invested huge in this. the exchanges are hugely invested in this. the mammoth size buildings used to house the equipment. the regulators dont want to know and quite frankly dont understand. i hear...

Some fixed-income analysts are predicting US 10yr yields could fall to 0.995% by Sep

Yep your correct. In JAPAN in 15 years they went from 0.25 to 0.5 a quarter of a per cent hike in 15 years. thats the reality of this mess. they never will go up.
