Black Monday: Nuclear Meltdown in Japan

The Japanese PM just said on TV that the explosion did not damage the reactor and there was no leak. Details are hard for me to explain in English but it looks as though we can rest easy for now.

Earthquake & Tsunami in Japan Happening Now

Not true. I'm one, and I had a chance to triple my money in 3 minutes, as I was here in Tokyo and had a 20 second warning on TV that a big one was coming. True, my own safety was first in mind. But even if I had been elsewhere, taking advantage of others' misfortune of this type is not in my blood.

Earthquake & Tsunami in Japan Happening Now

Latest death toll is 91. I live in the center of Tokyo. The roads are one big parking lot. Almost all of the trains and subways are not running and they won't be for the rest of the day. Streets are full of people walking home. It's like the football game just ended and people are pouring...

    >benwm You're most welcome. Sorry, I forgot to add one other. Phillip in Singapore. They have a relationship with a Japanese broker here. But their margin rate is 100%, rather than 50% like IB. So I have never used them. http://www.phillipfutures.com.sg/en/products/index.html#interestrate

    Trading is boring!

The solution to boredom is to continually try to improve your trading. I've never had a boring day in over 35 years. Guess when I'm right 100% of the time, it'll get boring.

    trading vs coaching

It sounds as though on one hand you want to make some money teaching and on the other learn through teaching. On top of that you say you've just started being somewhat successful. At that level I doubt that you would gain the confidence of your students. Anyway, just to practice my typing...

anyone trading the US stocks market from tokyo?

Yeah, everybody here in Japan has a 100Mbps optical fiber connection that never has an outage and runs about $40 a month. Of course you don't need that much speed given the size of an order, but it's nice to have.

why Wall Street traders win and you don't

In the end, there's really no need to worry about who's doing what. Just go with the trend. How can you better that? And then you might even look down at those Wall Street traders you envy now. In fact, I know you will.

What service you use to connect to the Internet?

Here's my speed test on my 100Mbps connection that I get for about $40 here. And this price will be coming down by 25% shortly. So this is what you can look forward to when the U.S. catches up with the times in this area.

    Candlesticks an edge?

I've written this on ET before and don't know if you'll find it interesting or not but even though almost all charts that are printed here in Japan use candlesticks, very few Japanese do candlestick analysis. You can go to a bookstore and find a zillion TA books on indicators and the like but...

    An All-new eSignal Launches...

Until you get what you need, have you ever tried a Range chart using a Line instead of a bar, and setting the interval to 0.001R. This will plot every trade at every level and is what I use in addition to 1 minute charts when trading futures. This will clearly indentify S/R and you can compress...

Arthur If I understand you correctly, instead of dragging the x-axis, drag the left border of the chart. That way you can reduce the width to about an inch.
