Are there any Lady Traders on ET? How do you trade, what are your strategies?

I'm interested in hearing points of view about trading from educated women; preferably from women that don't need or want a man's financial support. Post here or drop me a line. Your gender shouldn't matter when it comes to trading however we all are aware of chemical and wiring differences...

    A Very Profitable Methodology

Howdy I've read over the OP's comments and like the overall summary. You express a good understanding of your approach which i think is key for someone starting out. I'm interested to see your trades in the next few weeks and months so please do keep us posted. Thanks. Ch. Insp. Clouseau

question on getting fast nyse fills

great. another thread gone in the shitter b/c of personal "feelings". joey, how's it goin? if you find a good floor broker, let us know please. ECN's work very well in most situations for the conditions you cite.

question on getting fast nyse fills

joey if the stock is halted, then resumes to trade, you either use a floor broker or an ECN. it's a simple fucking question people--no need to flex your psuedo-academic know-nothing knowledge. the guy just wanted a straight answer not an evening with your weak writing style. good luck joey.

    My Options Play

Losing is part of winning, so it is not something i worry about. If i worried about losing i would not make a dime, ever. You can change the name to comparison but i think you understand my point that a pure competition with people worthy of competing is impossible. People take their setup to...

I'm sorry to say that the competition for me is getting regularly fed with what the market is offering. At this point in time i cannot break bread here for some pseudo forum competition. Who cares if someone i know nothing about does well or not and if they see my results. It means shit. I...

    Money Management

The only way to hedge against black swan is to always have the most updated information and to always have derivatives that somehow hedge your market exposure. The key is to delete most of your longs while putting on to your short side. This can be done in milliseconds these days but you have...

Oil has put in a ST base pattern with this recent churning. I think it will firm up in Dec. Why not buy the 105's for $2.05 ? VLO can easily trade back into $115 with higher crude and refined products pricing. I will point out the recent selling by executives in other oil related stocks i.e...

    Money Management

Understood. I was referring to a quote from psytrader "for long term positions, no more than 5% of capital is parked in any one stock." On a "black swan" day each of those long positions would be toast. For options, sure you can hedge against such events. But how would an equity trader...

    Money Management

I don't see how having 20 positions, each 5% of your account would help you on a day like 9/11. You'd just have 20 positions to repair. The damage would occur no matter how you spread the risk, unless of course you were in synch with the drop down and had shorts on that morning to your...

BBY Technicals point to lower price action but something tells me the rally will continue into $52. 47.5/50 DEC CALLS are seeing peak interest now so i can see why one would sell them thinking that volatility will implode. Thanks for the heads up.

So, what are the plans going forward? I saw 175 pages for this thread but when i opened it a second and third time the count went down. Weird. Anyway, what lessons have you learned from this ongoing experiment? Thanks.

I think Victor, obsessed with greatness and perfection, was too concentrated in asian currency before the "crisis" hit. Only Victor knows and can tell you about what led him to do so but feel free to speculate. His book may shed light on this... Money management in basic form is protection...

Where's the P/L now and how far are you from your goal? I forgot your goal details and don't have the time to search 175+ pages. Thanks.

It's amazing you haven't taken an analyst position yet. The corporate world beckons your precise analysis on Asians and Dell. Multi's experiment has taught me something so i thank him.

Finding your balance as a Trader

Cool Thread. What you say is interesting Joe but the Michael Jordan's of the world have families and relationships that bend to their favor not the other way around. Perhaps someone with a few billion in trading capital can attest to this but nonetheless it's a quaint idea you have there. How...

They took some bites, eh? SP500 is not out of the woods yet, needs a good print at the open otherwise it will track sideways and look to test 1215. I'll give MON room to breathe inside $71.52-$72.66 but if it trades under $71.70 for a solid half hour i may initiate a short position.

    My Options Play

If SP500 holds the line MON could go for the highs again but the bulk of the short term move is over, i agree with you. BBY i would try to get as neutral of an option play as possible with limited profits but low risk. I don't really trade BBY too often. MON however is a staple for me.

BBY was pretty ripe yesterday. It's getting close again. You can put one on if it trades into $45 But the winner of this week for me is MON. This is a good stock to trade. Please add it to your universe and give some feedback. Thanks.

Anyone take AMZN for a ride? Nice gap to fill here. I see many island reversals on the daily.
