    SWIFT ban begins

World power equilibriums will shift, with a weakening Europe and Russia. America and China win. No thoughts on the Emirates, though they possess that black gold offcourse.

Breaking: Russian nuclear deterrent on alert :BBC

Just a thought on Scholz saying Germany will enter a new era of military spending. Now you can’t build an army in a few months using recruitment agencies (pun intended) but this is a process of years, if not decennium. IF you think Putin is quickly drawn in a corner now by sanctions, why would...

    SWIFT ban begins

I belief a basic 'rule' of war is to only weaken an opponent 'somewhat but not too much' (or destroy totally so that there is no change of retaliation). Europe made that mistake in ww1, Germany had to pay so much that the country fell in enormous poverty. It was (one of) the most important...

How does trading change your life?

I think this is the general type: relatively loner, and a mix between cowboy-spirit and a longterm-continuation mindset. Sometimes I wonder if trading didn't chose me, instead of the opposite. Most times when I go running in the woods I end up taking notes/ideas in my phone :D

How does trading change your life?

Around 10 years ago I saved a bunch off money and traded/gambled a few years (which didn't work out so I had to find a job again). To be honest, it was a bit dissapointing and certainly not all glitter and glamour (for me at least). Maybe you become somewhat more 'responsible' because you will...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Comparison is indeed difficult. When you look at a few days back in may you can see that the high is often 2-3% higher than the open, so it could be worthwhile to wait for such a 'gapfill-move' before entering a new short position (if you want to go short). Goodluck today!

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

So there we really go now.. Would be very interested how the daytraders would 'play' this today from the opening:thumbsup: If any comparison is possible, when you look at the bars on ES in march '20 these bars are between 6-12% in range. At the time of writing, the ES bar is 'only' 2.8% in...

    GBA Presents: THE GREEN MARKET

If it really happens that vix goes to 50 shorting the vix can be a very interesting trade. A level around 50 would historically be extremely rare. It seems scary but with enough patience this will drop to lower levels over time. Selling itm calls would be best for this imo, rolling at every...

My uneducated guess would also be a close around 4300 which leaves everybody quessing in the weekend. Then monday a big green day to tease weak shorts out. I think someone in Tokyo is ordering an extra sake :) And no drinks @ARKK

My gut would say the hypergrowth stocks will get another leg down. But I don't know if my gut is really the herds mass psychology, hard to distinguish.

Jeff Bezos' new yacht in Netherlands under fire, thousands RSVP to throw eggs at it

Don't worry about the eggs, we got all those eggs from the staff canteens from some headquarters of big american companies, which are located by sheer coincidence in Amsterdam ;)

What are the best trading ideas for an invasion in Ukraine?

I understand, it was a bit of a joke. Monthly gas payments rose by 75-100% here.

I'm skeptical... what would you test next?

I don't know the nature of your method but it is wise to also test a more gradually bearmarket (opposed to the 2020 correction). Especially if you use options volatility can have a far more different impact. And offcourse realistic spread-costs, if not mentioned already.

    GBA Presents: THE GREEN MARKET

For short candidates, wouldn’t growth companies with low or no real earnings be a good play for a little trend down? You should expect them to get an extra kick down due to the rate hike stories. Or would this be too obvious?

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

I noticed that is the latest ‘decline’ in nq some growth stocks didn’t partipated enthusiastic to the downside. Could be coincidence. Wouldn’t it be logical that growth tech stocks will be extra negative influenced by extra rate hikes ( and thus are good short candidates)?
