identifying trends and patterns before they form.

Simple. I define timing as making active decisions when to buy and sell. You don't need candlesticks charts for that. You don't even need charts at all (why should you?) Happy holidays

It's oke. Just realise you don't need time charts for timing

Which are different per dataprovider. It's just a way of viewing certain data, nothing more, nothing less.

identifying trends and patterns before they form.

This is a good post for everyone which is starting out. Just like the realisation that all the price bars (candlesticks) analysis is based on arbitrairy cut-off points. You are trading based on data, ceci n'est pas une pipe

    Risking more than 1%...

How do you deal with trade outcomes which are not independent, but have autocorrelation? Suppose you would simply invest at fixed intervals in an index, can you improve metrics with risk management?

Can anyone else say "double bottom"?

Be careful, you can lose your own bottom when AI bots use MVI to identify your fingerprints from that partial shot.

Greatest wealth transfer of all time... (spot the problem)

Interesting thought. But I think its difficult to asses using only 1 input. Suppose for example AI really gets going( or not and it stays a fax), leading to a far larger productivity per capita.

Stocks can catch up once inflation data starts to ease

I think fundamentally the shift to a boom again will be from ai. It's astonishing what's possible and how many processes can be automatef ( and I don't refer to dancing robots). But I am probably biased because of my profession in the field.

Thodex, schmodex, or how to get 40K years in prison

I meant or, not and, but never mind :) Getting caught in an opera building up in the mountains woud be a nice 007-scenery I find it funny how lifegoals change over time. When I was in my 20's I always pictured myself in a cabriolet in the sun making fun as a goal, how cliché

These guys are always on "a beach" (with cocktail). I mean, I never read such a guy was caught up in the mountains or in an opera building.
