    Chicago Academics

I currently work for a firm in Chicago that specializes in algorithmic trading. Accordingly, I've been thinking about going back to school for some further education in this area. Thus far, I've looked at comp. sci. and financial engineering programs at U. of Chicago and Northwestern, and I've...

    European Oil Numbers

(I put this thread in misc. futures also, but I figured more people might see it here.) Anyone know if there is a European report corresponding to the EIA oil inventories report? If so, when is it released? Any other reports that might move oil in Europe? Thanks

    European Oil Reports

Does anyone know if there are European economic reports analogous to the EIA US oil inventory release? I'm looking for what moves Brent at night. Thanks!

New York Mercantile Exchange Goes Electronic on Globex

I traded quite a few of the oil contracts today. Still a lot thinner than ICE or the pit-traded contract, but I'm sure it will grow.

Looking for an assistant trader position

I moved to New York from Florida in search of what you seek, and now I'm moving to Chicago. I'm not moving until Wednesday so I can't yet speak from experience, but my impression is that I'm doing the right thing.

Who on this forum you learned the most from?

FT71 has been a huge help to me, a really great guy. I've also learned quite a bit from Nihaba, especially in his mirc room.

    Natural Gas - Help

Mini contracts in natural gas settle financially so there's no worry about having to withdraw any gas from the Henry Hub at the first of the month. As far as rollover gaps, they can somtimes be substantial in natural gas, easily $0.10 or $0.15. The rollover between fall and winter months can...

    Natural Gas

Long from $14?! Holy cow. Anyway, I see we have some supports coming in on the continuous chart at 7.14, 6.90, and 6.03. Where are you looking to take profits?

Today's storage report put me as dead wrong regarding the timing of the anticipated turnaround. I am still a bull looking for a price action signal to get me back on board, but for now, I am out.

vitamins mineral and foods good for trading

I'm a big fan of the omega-3's, and I take caps to get a combined 3 grams of EPA and DHA daily. There is little doubt left that these aid cognition and mood, along with a host of other physiological systems. I also hit the nootropics, using a stack similar to that already mentioned on this...

NYMEX says CFTC reconsidering ICE WTI contract

LOL. I work at the NYMEX, and let me tell you, it's hilarious. There are guys that swear up and down that trading from the pit is harder and that screen trading isn't "real" trading, blah, blah, blah, but they fight like hell to protect the ring.
