I have no experience with Validea. But Portfolio123 is better than the other (3) combined. And it's moderately priced.
I have no connection with Portfolio123 other than a user.
Good luck.
Thank you for that well thought out response. I'm not sure who it was directed toward, but I'll take the liberty of replying.
I'm pleased your experience with the firm in question has been good so far. However, if you pause to read the previous thread, highlighted above, you'll find three...
I show options on them. Poor volume and OI though - not enough to do spreads. But if you're just going to buy a call the spread's about 0.20 on the Mar ATM.
Seems ABC is getting us used to the idea of a woman president with their "Commander in Chief" show, although I heard mention on TV she "backed in".
It might be a good show, but I find the timing just too coincidental for my tastes.
Good thing there's a Constitutional roadblock in place or...
I wouldn't even consider OX to be ToS' true competition. If you're a U.S.-based active retail options traders my choices would be down to ToS, IB, or Tradestation. They all have their +/-'s.
You can have good, fast, or cheap. Pick two.
Nothing I've seen published. I had been with them not quite a year when I called, but had recently ramped up to 20-40 contracts (total for all legs) at a pop for 10 or so trades a month before I called. I didn't have to argue at all to get the ticket charge waived. Getting the $1.50 commish...
I see. I hadn't thought of it that way. I would prefer a new thread. You'd rather post to an existing thread.
As the old saying goes, "Six one way - a half dozen the other". It all comes out the same.
I don't think you have to be a client to take any of the classes.
I've been to the OptionPlanet (subsidiary of ToS) Basics and Beyond the Basics seminar. These were free and quite good, especially for someone with only a year or so of options trading under their belt at the time. You could...
Sorry if that came out harsh.
I just noticed in the past weeks you've posted replies to very dated threads. While I value your comments this is akin to coming back with a reply to a verbal conversation hours after the initial people have left the room. I wasn't sure if you were aware you were...
I've been with them not quite a year yet. A good place for trading equity options or even for investing - look elsewhere for futures, though.
No surprises so far.
You can negotiate a better rate if you do some volume (and it's not that large a hurdle). I was able to get the ticket charge...
Thanks for the link. I had forgotten about that thread. There was some really good info in the early options posts.
However, reading through that thread reminded me of how sad this board has become. The quality of the posts and the board in general has really degenerated in the last couple of...
I'd get IB on the horn and get someone there to verify/deny that's going on. It could take awhile, but it might be worth it.
Or maybe PM riskarb or def. The former trades options trough IB (although I don't know if it's equities) and the latter is the very unofficial IB rep here on ET.
If...
That's the same as asking "How long will it take for me to drive somewhere?"
The reward/risk numbers are all over the map. The same goes for the %wins. You might be a long-term trader with a 2:1 r/r and a 40% win rate. Or you might be a scalper with a 1:1 r/r and a 70% win rate.
The r/r...
Don't sweat it. Everybody does the same thing from time to time. Adjustments are so enticing because option positions are so versatile - like the sirens' song. Tie yourself to the mast and steer straight on.
Good luck.
