    E-local lost connections today

Anyone else having problems with their elocal connection today May 9th? I made a trade from 9:30 to 10:00 and was losing the connection every 30 seconds or so for the entire time. Somehow I actually managed to get in and out of the trade and made $2700, and I would have made a few hundred...

Anyone understand this guy's voice at realtimefutures.com ?

On the advice of someone in these forums, I decided to check out the free trial of the squawk box these guys provide. Yes, I agree he sounds like an auctioneer, but the real problem I have with it is that the words are almost impossible to understand. They are all sort of mumbled or...

I am the guy that started that thread that went to 10 pages of replies. Thanks to all the people for the helpful comments. I am happy to report that I have made the transition from trading QQQ to emini. It is SO MUCH BETTER its hard to believe I ever wanted to trade QQQ. I used to...

    IB's Canadian Registration..............

I have posted this info before, but it looks like lots of Canadians are still looking for low cost US brokers that will accept them, so here it is again: I live in Ontario and have been trading with JPR Capital in the USA for 6 months now. I highly recommend them, they gladly accept...

QQQ: Do you think its better to just hit the bid/ask rather than wait?

ok, for one thing, like my name says, I am a canadian trader. IB does not accept canadian accounts, most US brokers don't. They will accept any country in the world EXCEPT Canadian accounts. They're all scared of some obscure Canadian securities law which I find absurb, because they...

QQQ: Do you think its better to just hit the bid/ask rather than wait?

I considered nasdaq futures but any halt in their trading would really screw up my trading plan. The last thing I would want to have happen is have the futures trading halted when I had a position in them. I am satisifed trading QQQ on Island, I am making money, I'm just looking to...

QQQ: Do you think its better to just hit the bid/ask rather than wait?

I'm trading about 10,000 QQQ on Island 2 or 3 times a day. For the last 6 months I have tried to figure out whether my strategy should be to just hit the bid/ask, or if I should wait and let someone try to take me out. I have my own trading strategy that is not dependant on scalping a few...

Can the S&P Futures audio feed help me trade QQQ better on Island?

well I have also listened to the CME's marketsound broadcast for the nasdaq e-mini and haven't found it to be helpful for what I want it to do, which is basically indicate to me where the QQQ price on ISland will be headed in the next few seconds in general. maybe I am looking for the...

Can the S&P Futures audio feed help me trade QQQ better on Island?

Someone recommended in another post that I always be listening to [internet squawkbox] while I am engaged in trading. I only trade QQQ, I trade it 2 or 3 times a day, trading 10,000 shares per trade, and hold it anywhere from 15 to 90 minutes. I have my own unique trading system I...

    Canadian Daytrading firms?

I live in Ontario and have been trading with JPR Capital in the USA for 6 months now. I highly recommend them, they gladly accept Canadians. Not only that, but they offer the cheapest commission I have seen, only half a cent per share (based on 2000 share order). And they use Realtick...

    Source for historic intra-day quotes

I don't analyze nor trade in what most traders might consider the "normal" way. I only trade QQQ once or twice a day, I don't look to trade all day long. Analysis is done through just a regualr spreadsheet, looking at various price points at specific times throughout the trading day...

    Source for historic intra-day quotes

try ordering the data from Tickdata. I ordered the last 6 years worth of data for the Nasdaq 100 index and am extremely impressed, they managed to collect about 99.99% of all the ticks of the index for the last 6 years. It was well worth the money.

Should I be trading Emini instead of QQQ ?

By live audio feed, I assume you mean something like "marketsound" provided by the CME? I have listened to it before and all it has done is confuse me so far, I guess I don't know how to listen to it properly yet. Is that what you meant?

Should I be trading Emini instead of QQQ ?

I currently trade 8000 shares of QQQ on Island once or twice a day. I hold for up to 90 minutes, often shorter, but never longer than this, regardless of my profit or loss to that point. I am fairly satisfied with QQQ on Island and have made money but am always looking to improve my...

has anyone ordered info from TICKDATA ?

I trade only one thing and that is QQQ on Island. I am considering ordering some historical data from this "Tickdata" company. The info I had in mind was the historic one minute tick data for the NDX index for the last 5 years. It would cost me $300. Does anyone have experience...
