OK, I'm about 99% sure I just came up with a way to DESTROY the market...

I am trying to get into Spitznagel's book Safe Haven but it is hard to know what to make of him. In the preface he basically says don't even try to do any of this type of tail hedging. This isn't a book about strategy. That has made it hard to be motivated to listen to him as what is the point...

A rogue version of ChatGPT is predicting the stock market will crash next month. Here's why the AI c

Damn there are some really miserable people on this board. Nothing says winning at life more than a post like this. chatGPT is really a mirror on our society. You can learn literally anything from real AI but we are society of fools obsessed with political nonsense.

    How feasible is algorithmic trading?

I am embarrassed I gave that ridiculous video any clicks. To believe chatGPT is going to write a winning trading strategy is to have not the first clue how chatGPT works. The point of that video is to make money from people clicking on the video. Youtube has really become like a giant flee...

    Intel a buy?

I only mean that in the sense that Threadripper could have buried INTC on the high end completely. AMD is still doing great but when 32 core Threadripper came out in 2018 the lead they had over INTC was so massive. I had just been waiting for the price to come down from the MSRP of $1799...

    Success of Japanese Candlestick Patterns?

Candlesticks just don't make sense with electronic markets. The open and close are nearly arbitrary compared to the past when those would have been hugely informative data points. Using datasets of the S&P from 1992 to 1998 is pointless. That is even before decimalization.

Python - Backtesting library with variable position sizing

Personally, I would just look up articles on building your own backtest engine with pandas. Pandas has already done most of the work. I have seen a number of articles previously. This is a decent starting point...

ChatGPT and the future of information

I am at the point that I pretty much have chatGPT open in a window if my browser is open. It really does show how bad Google has become. A few times this week I couldn't find the answer I was looking for on Google but chatGPT nailed it right away. It is also so refreshing to just find...

    Intel a buy?

I just can't see it at these prices. They are competitive on the higher end now only because AMD messed up Threadripper. If the 32 and 64 core Threadrippers had come down in price instead of going way up INTC would be in even bigger trouble. Personally, I still don't think they look that cheap...

Google announces Bard A.I. in response to ChatGPT

I am at the point I would rather ask chatGPT about pretty much anything instead of a google search. The biggest thing is it reminds me of the old internet without constant ads and distraction. It also feels like it mimics the old web when you would actually "surf the web" and find hyperlinks to...

Red Flags Or False Alarm: Where’s The Recession?

Hi everyone, glad to find this forum. I had been on Reddit for awhile but tired of the structure. To me, it is just a matter of timing. I just don't see how we get out of the current situation without a recession. If we don't have a recession then economic activity will cause inflation and...
