To answer my own question after testing it out, the display field is for ICEBERG orders. I'm still trying to figure out how to create HIDDEN orders for futures, the link posted above is for stocks.

I forgot to mention I only trade futures on CME and CBOT and most of the information IB has put on in regards to hidden orders and iceberg orders relates to stock trading.
