    ES Journal - 2012

Yesterday was a 15 point range on much lower volume and at a much lower vix. Today I think we have a 20 point range meaning at least 8-9 more points of downside. VIX has tons of room to increase. Still no real fear out there.

    ES Journal - 2012

Anyway my thoughts on ES: Huge divergences in world markets. Europe and EM significantly below 2011 and 2012 highs. US markets alone broke 2011 highs due mostly to flight to quality/safety. Europe in deep recession now. Europe biggest trade partner for China and US. So there will be some...

    ES Journal - 2012

Sorry bro, i didn't understand that: I know that the overnight margin on ES and YM is 5k each. However if long one and short the other, do the margin requirements offset each other.

    ES Journal - 2012

Brokers set intraday margins, not overnight (i think). I ask because I am short ES and want to hold for a while but I also want to hedge with YM on any potential rallies. I know that the overnight margin on ES and YM is 5k each. However if long one and short the other, do the margin...

Penson is STILL making changing to all their 1099's. OK to file anyway?

You only trade futures and Penson still gave you an incorrect P/L number? I thought futures was the simplest and most error free intrument to trade as far as tax reporting?

*No Risk* - Simply Short UNG, VXX, SDS and every other Constantly Decaying ETF

There are so many ETFs out there that seem to be constantly decaying towards zero. UNG, VXX, SDS come to mind immediately but there are like 20+ others. Why even bother trading when you can just short these ETFs and double your money almost every year. I also wonder how the SEC can approve...

Health Insurance - I need to change from Individual to Group Health Insurance

I'm self employed and I live in NJ. I purchased a BCBS plan by myself and I pay about 1300/month. I basically purchased the most expensive plan for myself and my wife because I didn't want to take any chances of something not being covered even though my wife and I are young and healthy...

InteractiveBrokers "hyper-hypothecates" $14.5b of Customer Funds?

You cannot trust any firm, especially one in the finance industry. I'm setting an alert for IBKR, if it breaks 10 - I'm withdrawing all my money.

So is this how a free market works?

This is the kind of insanity that lead to Occupy Wall Street. The gummint and central banksters will do absolutely anything and everything to save wall street but nothing to save main street. Their response to main street: be patient all this money printing and wall street bonuses will...

BAC last bid 4.98, S&P downgrades 37 global banks...

The 4.98 BAC print was what prompted this mornings bailout. Today was going to be a bloodbath and the central banksters knew it. Its funny how the gummint will do anything and everything to save the banks but nothing to save jobs.

Is germany throwing the world into disaster yet again??

The Germans are the most responsible people on Earth. They work hard instead of being welfare dependants. They manufacture the products they need and export the surplus instead of importing. They save instead of spend. They rent rather than own. The rest of the world is pressuring them to...

IB TWS - Display Size Field is for Hidden or Iceberg Orders?

To answer my own question after testing it out, the display field is for ICEBERG orders. I'm still trying to figure out how to create HIDDEN orders for futures, the link posted above is for stocks.

IB TWS - Display Size Field is for Hidden or Iceberg Orders?

I forgot to mention I only trade futures on CME and CBOT and most of the information IB has put on in regards to hidden orders and iceberg orders relates to stock trading.

IB TWS - Display Size Field is for Hidden or Iceberg Orders?

Here is what I am looking at in TWS: Edit -> Global Configuration -> Presets -> Futures -> All possible fields -> Size and then the "Display Size" field. So lets say I'm trading 10 lots. And I select a display size of 1. Does that make my order a hidden order or an iceberg order? In other...
