Don's Openings and More for 2006

1 long fill on a small 500 share position for a whopping 10 bucks. Had to bail early due to another setup that needed my attention. Steelers/Bengals this Sunday, and don't forget to tune into Penn State's big upset of #1 ranked Ohio State on Saturday...

Don's Openings and More for 2006

8 short fills, +298 Should have had no fills, but added a line to my spreadsheet yesterday and forgot to change another spreadsheet I use to load values to the trading platform. As a result, all my short sale orders went in with prices that should have been for buy orders. Given the gap up...

Don's Openings and More for 2006

1 long loser, -100 Managed to bail out before it went 30 cents in my favor, thank goodness. Insult added to injury after last night's Steeler game

I only use mental stops. Like Chiguy says, you don't want to use them unless you have to, because you can get hosed on quick shakeouts. Bumped up my envelope a tick and only put in sells today. Got nothing. Would have been the same story without any modifications... Enjoy the weekend all...

Don's Openings and More for 2006

Be careful on those "tank" moves right off the open, as it can be pretty common to see. You don't want to be too quick to bail out if it does not continue going against you. Lots of people try to add more shares on these types of moves, in anticipation of the bounce. You really have to know your...

That absolutely sucks. Of course if you were on the ECN side of things, the trade would be busted. I'm sure you coined some new profanity when you realized what happened...

Don's Openings and More for 2006

4 longs, 3 losers, -557 My OPG style is no longer working in the current environment. Time to take a break and re-evaluate.

Don's Openings and More for 2006

2 short, both losers, -395 Patience would have paid on one, but wasn't about to risk it on the opening surge, especially since it wasn't budging a bit in my favor. The OPG beat (or should I say "beat down") goes on. Steelers open training camp today; I know you all are excited...

2 longs (one due to an ex-div date I missed; bailed early on it for a scratch), patience didn't pay off today, +55.

Don's Openings and More for 2006

True, but even good days are small lately. Decent size wins have been hard to come by the last 3 months, and I'm not one to get too greedy...

Don's Openings and More for 2006

3 long, 2 winners (small despite the opening surge), 1 loser, scratch -9 I may be joining mschey on the OPG bench. There seems to be a drought going on; if not, I suck and need to retool. But usually when things are better you get more posters to the OPG board.

    Do you like people?

Please don't develop your perceptions about America based on products emanating from Hollywood (Michael Moore products especially). I realize this is hard to do, but the majority of the country is 180 degrees different.
