    Jack Hershey's Books

Yes it, show the INCREDIBLE level of wishful thinking on the part of Jack Hershey complainers. Using your own analogy, do think a chess grandmaster like Bobby Fischer or Gary Kasparov would teach a beginning chess player over the internet? If you think so, YOU ARE DELUDED. The problem doesn't...

    Jack Hershey

So you refuse to share your own setups, yet you compain about someone else who is? You don't have to help other people with your trading strategies that are profitable, but you expect someone else to help you? So why don't you take the high road and post YOUR systems and setups? Lead by example.

    Jack Hershey

You sound very naive to me. I don't know if Jack's advice works or not, but I realize it's coming off of a website. So I take his posts as potentially helpful tips, but no more than that. And I definitely don't become one of the man's "students" and feel slighted if what he says doen't seem to...

Am I missing something? What do you mean by "his students?" Have you paid for some type of course that Jack has?

Someone posts insights into his systems and gets insulted? 1- I'm no master trader, but I have been able to follow a lot of what Jack says. No, he doesn't post the EasyLanguage code, but do you really expect him to? No I haven't backtested because backtesting is a lot of work. And anyone...

Great advice. I am planning to buy a new system pretty soon. When I do that, I'll go with the removable hds. Thanks!

    Norton Ghost

While I found out I can't boot off of a USB drive, I can still have it copied on to a new hd if my current one crashes.

    Norton Ghost

I'm considering getting a USB external hard drive just for ~weekly complete backups of my hd using Windows XP's Backup utility. If the system crashes, I could go into the BIOS and get the computer to boot off this drive, right? (I'm considering the external route now b/c my ps is only 200W...

    Norton Ghost

Thanks for the tip. However, the problem with using Windows Backup is that it won't write to CD-ROM drives. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;315255 I get a tape or second hd, I imagine Windows backup might be a good way to go.

    Norton Ghost

I've been thinking of pickup a copy of Norton Ghost or Powerquest's Drive Image to back up my hd. It's been working well, but it's also pretty old and currently not backed up. Any opinions on Ghost, Drive Image or other backup progs/methods? Thanks! P.S. A web search on both products comes up...

    What's Your Favorite Candlestick Pattern?

Kay, I'd be very interested in hearing you talk about how to do this more. From what I've learned so far about candlesticks is that testing them mechanically would be very difficult and have some judgement calls imbedded into any mechanical system. This is because you are: 1) recognizing...

    FOREX Historical Data

I realize that a lot of the big banks have charting and data you can download or view. But is there a reliable provider of historical FOREX data? It seems this would be very hard b/c it's a 24hr market dominated by large banks. How could a data provider find out what the various market makers'...

I just got a copy of Nison's first Candlestick book. Very good. So far, hammer and hanging man signals seem to be pretty valuable. Do you have any favorite candlestick patterns? Thanks.

    Scalping within a long straddle

I thought the exact same thing, but after re-reading it to make a post similar to yours, I realized that straddle was really the correct way to describe what he's doing. In a strangle, both options are OTM. But that's not the case here. In his trade, both options are ITM, hence the put is...
