    20 reasons why Oil to NEVER hit $135.00 again...dated: May 22, 2008

What is the point of continuing this thread? All you do is post every time that oil dips that a bearish move is "confirmed". Checked your quotes lately? Keep shorting a bull if you want...either you will get it right at some point or run out of money trying.

Obama vows crackdown on energy speculators

This will only drive the majority of the oil trade overseas, beyond US control. Oil is a world-wide market...duh. Which non-US futures exchange will benefit the most from this type of policy? My guess is Dubai.

    Anybody trade from their patio?

I can relate. Houston is miserably humid in the summer. I used to live there. You need an outdoor misting system and network of fans just to stay halfway cool outside. My condolences.

    Anybody trade from their patio?

Did the OP or anyone else take the afternoon off and grill/drink beer? I went flat earlier and I'm headed out now start getting the supplies. If you did take off or are planning to later, you should mention what is on your menu. Mine for tonight is seared beef tenderloin with grilled artichokes...

    TWS unstable since Thurs 6/19

I'm having the same trouble. I upgraded to v884.6 last week and have experienced lockups and really slow responses ever since. Today was too much. They are recommended to downgrade to 882 with Java 1.5 rev15 until they determine the cause. I was worried about upgrading to the "new and improved"...

Stop Failure to Execute in IB

I agree, liquidity is not the issue. If you have a stop order and the market trades through it you should get an execution at the available market price. Let IB tech support examine the audit trail. Maybe there is some bug in booktrader or TWS that could have caused it.

Stop Failure to Execute in IB

Dunno. I don't use Booktrader but my experience with IB's stops has been pretty reliable, even in fast markets.

Stop Failure to Execute in IB

Did you have a stop limit order in or a stop order? Obviously the former is risky when an economic release is coming out due to volatility. I have never had a stop order not execute in this circumstance. Usually you might get some slippage but you would be out at least. Give us more details...

    Anybody trade from their patio?

Sounds like a great idea! I love to grill year-round and starting early on a Fri afternoon is a good plan... Fri afternoon is usually chop central anyway. Here is my idea of what a usable outdoor bbq/trading patio area might look like. Just add a comfortable chair and a few laptops and...

Firefox 3.0 is here (fast download mirror)

Just in case anyone else is having video problems with FF3, I had to completely uninstall and delete all files from Firefox 2 and reinstall Firefox 3 from scratch. After that, I was able to reinstall the Flash plugin and streaming video works now.

Firefox 3.0 is here (fast download mirror)

I upgraded and now it crashes when trying to play video stream from CNN. I was worried about this but you think they could handle video playback in the new version. Firefox has always had trouble with this. I'm going back down to v2 until this is fixed. Oh well... worth a try at least.

    Have a nice weekend, Bernanke

I can't believe Kudlow still has a show. That guy is so freaking annoying. He actually made Cramer look good when they both had a show together. The only way I would watch his show is if he started doing blow again... on the air.

    Oil Run up

no, but they are saber rattling. I wouldn't be surprised if oil went down after Israel attacks Iran. "Buy the rumor, sell the news."

    Oil Run up

You are looking at the electronic contract. Limit is $20. The ring traded contract is $10 for five minutes then is expanded another $10 (in either direction) after trading starts. Essentially there is no limit. "If any contract is traded, bid, or offered at the limit for five minutes...

    20 reasons why Oil to NEVER hit $135.00 again...dated: May 22, 2008

You might check W's record in the oil business before you call him an "oil man". The only thing his oil company Arbusto was successful at was drilling dry holes. Ironically (or not), he made most of his money because they got voters to agree to a taxpayer funded stadium for the Texas Rangers...

    CL limit up soon

if you read the fine print on the contract specs it can keep going up another $10 in any direction after a five minute trading halt...and there is no limit to the number of halts. so essentially there is no limit, if I read this correctly. "If any contract is traded, bid, or offered at the...

this could be interesting as the ICE WTI contract has no daily price limit unlike CL.. it would be interesting to see what happens... get the popcorn ready.
