    Darvas methods?

on ind3x (whatever the site name was) is no longer there - the site was given up, and is now a placeholder. however, i found the interview (by mark crisp, 1974) here: http://www.bharatbhasha.com/home_business.php/35840 it's listed elsewhere on the web as "only interview, 1975". but it...

    shorting pink sheet stocks.

does anyone know the name of a firm which allows shorting of pink sheet stocks? important concerns are (in order): -> reliability of firm and having a history. -> execution speed and (if not on the internet) ability to route to the MMs who honor their pink sheet quotes. -> price -> on the...

How's real estate market in your area?

90 miles north of nyc, near poughkeepsie. poughkeepsie has a decent chunk of oaxacan or pueblo (likely illegal) immigrants. nice part - they're residing in the area that formerly had lots of drug dealers. so they're cleaning up the neighborhood, quite literally. i'm no fan of illegals, but...

    Kazaa screwed

i had kazaa lite from way back when, and if it's not on my hard drive, i have it on a backed up disc somewhere. i know i'm not the only one... the riaa and mpaa have much more in common with the mafia than with legitimate business.

Bob Pisani: No follow through is bad

not at all - ted was one of the few who WOULD challenge the people who he had to interview. i've heard that certain analysts refused to go on with him / certain ppl (then) on squawk box because they'd actually get called out on their bad picks.

free island, arca books going away?

i saw something recently on arca's site which indicated their bookviewer was going away soon. then today, i saw this on island's site: <b>"The INET BookViewer® Notice to BookViewer customers: Pending SEC approval, beginning September 1, 2006, INET BookViewer and related order data will...

    Protectionalism - US Gambling

i mentioned this exact idea to a lawyer friend of mine two weeks ago, and he agreed with me (and you, and others) that it would be the likely outcome, if this ever come to fruition. i also said that, if the ISPs had to 'ban' party poker, we'd see something like this: an offshore company is...

give me odds on Cramer being yanked off CNBC by the end of the year..

herb greenberg? no, not at all. the only time shorters are ever really given 'guru' status in equities is near the end of a bear market. and greenberg's never traded, or managed money, so he couldn't attain that level. cramer's train has a ways to go.

Does everyone have CNBC turned on while trading ?

i have cnbc on but often don't listen to what they're saying. i have it on for a couple reasons: 1) on some major announcements, they'll be first or close to it. if i see the markets move, that will be a "oh, that's why" moment. 2) i fade when someone comes on and touts a random stock...

How many Would move to New Broker Company ?

i've changed brokers only when problems at the first broker became so bad that i couldn't deal with it anymore. the first one was etrade (yeah, i know) around 1998, i think. i couldn't take site freeze-ups and what i found out was selling their order flow. the second was ab watley...

Do you use stop-loss orders at all?

always, always, always. but my stop loss depends on different things for different stocks. it could be a straight price point; it could be an intraday moving avg being broken...could be a time frame (ie. has to move in the next hour or i'm out), could be a level 2 participant (if X gets...

Do you yell and scream at the computer if you do a bad trade?

yes, i swear / curse at screen. i do more of it on a technical problem (ie. cable modem dying, etc.) i do it when it's my fault, and i know it. but i get over it soon after.
