Ron Paul believes Libya intervention an ‘impeachable’ offense

Paul 1, Darwin 0. We are now at war with the government of Libya, which was no imminent threat the the United States. Under the Constitution such a war requires a declaration of war by the House of Representatives. No such declaration was made. Hence, this is an impeachable offense...

Is it possible to separate an IB account into many accounts for different strategies?

Well, as I said, there seem to be two flavors of "linking", so it's rather confusing. Also, I believe that to share data subscriptions the accounts have to be under the same name.

Is it possible to separate an IB account into many accounts for different strategies?

The securities in my IRA do not add to the buying power in my trading account. (I'm sure it would conflict with some regulation if they did, after all, the IRA is a cash account and the trading account is a margin account. In any case I would not be able to transfer money out of my IRA into my...

Is it possible to separate an IB account into many accounts for different strategies?

You are wrong. I have my IRA and trading accounts linked. In my IRA I have stocks on the U.S. exchanges, Canadian exchanges, and LSE, as well as some bonds. So that adds up to a lot of subscriptions. When I look that the fees for the past couple of months for my IRA all I see is a single...

Is it possible to separate an IB account into many accounts for different strategies?

Set up different accounts. You can link them so that you only pay once for the various data subscriptions. A box in TWS lets you choose which account you're working with.

If I could print up trillions of dollars to buy bonds any time I wanted I too could make $82 billion in profits. I'm not impressed.

    Nighttrading

When you look at typical charts you notice that much (and often, most) of the close-to-close price change occurs in the opening gap. So, is anybody successful at night trading? I.e., entering a position at the close of a day and exiting the next morning shortly after the open. It looks tricky...

    USA Bombs Libya

Try overthrowing the government of the United States. Start by trying to take over some government buildings. I guarantee that the government, with the full approval of Obama and congress, will stomp all over you, up to and including killing you if necessary. How many other countries will...

    USA Bombs Libya

It was for the other congressmen to answer that question -- the cowardly, worthless politicians who are afraid to do their constitutional duty -- to vote aye or nay on a declaration of war against Libya. After all, if the United States has some sort of moral right to jump into somebody else's...

what should I do having a good track record?

Let's keep the math simple and assume that you can make 60% per year. You now have $88k. At a 60% rate of compounding it will take you less than 4 years to get to $500,000. So trade your own money.

    USA Bombs Libya

You are an idiot if think this isn't another undeclared war. After all, we just attacked the military forces of a sovereign state.

Time is on Your Side - SPX Calendars

Sometimes calendars work and sometimes they don't. If you are just blindly initiating calendars at the start of every week there's no edge and no reason to expect to make money on average. For any sort of calendar spread you need to know the historical volatility and the current implied...

$7,000,000 is not enough to be rich!

It's been a long time since having $1 million meant you are rich. I figure $2 million is the minimum needed for a modest middle class retirement, assuming you already own your own home. That is why I can't feel too sorry for those public employees protesting in Wisconsin. Their benefits...
