    Trading based on bid/ask (image)

Impulse moves from the POC will almost always show themselves via micro range expansion caused by one side or the other pulling their bids/offers. An increase in velocity of volume will also be there as a tell. I didn't put volume velocity on this chart but you can see clearly that after the IB...

    Time vs tick

Also a daily user of Market Profile. But I would not be to quick to discount Volume over Time. See the charts below; one is ES 10K candles and the other is traditional MP 30 Minute. When I am looking for a new 'Step 1' to occur, volume at price seems to always provide a more accurate launch...

Winning, Losing & BetSize trading the ES

Just check it every AM before trading. As others have mentioned you want to know where you are in relation to key levels of current and previous activity, similarly you want to know if a report is going to come out. I remember you saying you were in CA now. So the larger reports come out at...

Winning, Losing & BetSize trading the ES

ES Today is FOMC day. You should notice a difference in today's action compared to other days. The first 30 - 60 min will be the same but after that you will get a lot of mush until 2:00pm EST. Something to think about as you go forward.

Here is a country where income from active trading is always taxed as capital gains

Since you have deputized yourself as the emotional maturity police on my hypothetical example of a US citizen marrying a foreign national for tax purposes, I'll give you a couple of more examples that are a little more realistic so you can be even more judgmental.... *US citizen travels abroad...

Requesting advice on how to stop moving my stop loss order?

Contact Gamblers Anonymous Discipline cannot be gifted to you on an internet forum. The most common way of acquiring the discipline to follow your trading plan is by having a massive losing trade. That's how I learned it.

Here is a country where income from active trading is always taxed as capital gains

When you send me the IRS code that has jurisdiction over my foreign citizen wife I'll send it to my tax attorney and CPA? Not every married couple files jointly. There are women from foreign countries who want to marry a US citizens for many reasons. I would imagine there are US citizen men who...

    Malicious Multinicks Stalking

Forget IP address tracking for finding multi-nicks, they can be faked. Besides, some members honestly have one nick but they are basically sycophants of other members. Just make available a matrix of who likes who's posts then you'll see right away who the circle jerkers on ET are.

Here is a country where income from active trading is always taxed as capital gains

If you are a US citizen you can marry a non- US citizen and do your trading through your spouse's account. The spouse can then place their residency in a third location. There are countries that do not tax foreign earned income of their citizens as well. Just saying, there are ways around...

Two Ticks is better than One Tick

I always liked this statement - "If you can't make one good trade a day what makes you think you can make two?" I guess in the current context it would be - "If you can't make 1 tick a day what makes you think you can make two?" Law of large numbers aside :-)

    Removing the golden handcuffs

Max, Could you list a few features your software will have that are not available from off the shelf charting packages? As you know, most charting packages offer; *Traditional indicators *Back-testing capability *Sim trading *Live trading *Trade automation If you have something unique or...

Trading for a living & taxes in EU

I would agree they are useless for 75-85% of wannabe traders as is most general trading advice. For example, "I wish I could trade" I wish I could find a job in the trading industry" I wish I could divorce myself from my bad trading habits" But it stays a wish, they never do it, just repeat...

Trading for a living & taxes in EU

Andorra... I haven't gone and spoken to anyone since I got here but it seems you just need to invest $400k and reside here for 90 days a year for residency status in order to get the 10% tax rate. http://www.livinginandorra.com/category_a.html https://www.lowtaxandorra.com/
