Great Depression 2 underway as of July 25, 2014

You probably do have a dollar for each of them, if you have been ignoring them....

Solutions - Nationalize the Banking System and Print Greenbacks

Geez, Bonds, why the venom? Take it easy. :) For the record, I don't eat processed food. And I never said I was doing this without drugs or alcohol.

    Number of investment advisors

I have met some women who are doing very well at it with female clients. Although it seemed interesting to me at first, I later realized (having spent years practicing medicine) that it would probably just be another career consisting of giving advice to people who won't follow it. Unsatisfying.

    How great is Najarian(s)

Well, maybe I'll pay you. That's the best laugh I have had all day.

    Number of investment advisors

I'm amazed by the upsurge in investment advisors in my neighborhood. I receive many solicitations from them to the finest restaurants, and the number is increasing every day. I could be eating out every night off these people, if I wanted to put up with a 2-hr spiel to get a filet mignon or...

Solutions - Nationalize the Banking System and Print Greenbacks

I am amazed that anyone thinks the US government can improve on anything. There is already a nationalized health insurance program for elderly that is insolvent, a retirement program that is insolvent, a veterans' administration that ignores veterans who have suffered for this country, and a...

    Describe This Mental Issue

Are you really opposed to success? If so, why did you work so hard to learn to trade? I wonder if, instead, the name of this malady is simply Trading Too Big or Not Truly Believing in Your System. Identify the amount that you don't mind losing, then start trading that. After some time...

America's Poorest Shoppers Are Putting Discount Stores Out Of Business

Don't worry--there is a bottom somewhere. People still have to buy sundries, and you can count on them to find the cheapest place to do it. The space will get squeezed, but some retailer will survive. Plus, it's not just low-income shoppers. On my last trip to Walmart, I noticed mine...

Why do people pay for trading courses/training?

To learn everything that does not work, after which you can trade successfully.

Realistically suing the Federal Reserve in a class action lawsuit

Seems like a lot of work for $1000.....I'll just sit here and trade, thank you. Would someone please bring me a fiddle?

    Yellen, my guardian angel

I rarely have warm, fuzzy feelings toward anyone in government but Yellen is an exception. I'd like to make her a cup of tea, tell her a bedtime story, and tuck her in with a fluffy pillow each night. It's fun while it lasts.

THE Super Ultra Wealthy Man can see the future, he sees horror ahead

I am sure the drug dealers think I am stupid, and I am probably nowhere near as well off as some of them. But I am also free. I prefer getting taxed to getting imprisoned, beaten and raped, but that's just me. These are not tales of yesteryear, no. In the last 12 years, I have managed to...

THE Super Ultra Wealthy Man can see the future, he sees horror ahead

Volpunter, you are illustrating my point perfectly. Of course it is hard to get ahead. It always will be. Yes, there are plenty of embedded rules that make it difficult. However, things that are hard are just hard--they are not impossible...though I can see how they might seem impossible if...

THE Super Ultra Wealthy Man can see the future, he sees horror ahead

There is no way you can know who donates to what. When I donate money, no one asks me about my ethnic background.

THE Super Ultra Wealthy Man can see the future, he sees horror ahead

The main problem is not the government, the CEOs, the Fed, or any of that. I am not defending any of those, mind you, but the main problem is us. As mentioned above, for most people, it takes effort and sacrifice to get ahead. One has to give up their comfortable evenings on the couch...

THE Super Ultra Wealthy Man can see the future, he sees horror ahead

If you are not an anti-Semite, you do an excellent imitation of one. I object. Some of my friends are Jews, and they would never dream of "squeezing" anyone.

What degree/master/phd would be the best for a trader?

I suppose it depends what you want to trade. I like to trade options, and find that my exposure to calculus is valuable. Not that you need to perform anything beyond arithmetic, but studying calculus gives you a feeling for nonlinearity and for variation in several variables at once...

I don't even know who she is, but I love the quote from Jennifer Lawrence.

    Collars

Aren't collars equivalent to bull call spreads? I can't think of a reason to trade the collar unless you are working in a retirement account that won't let you trade spreads.
