    Egg Price Spike April 2022

I think at the core, hyperinflation is when the markets lose faith in the government like what's happening in Sri Lanka (and perhaps Pakistan soon). That has been historically true like in 1920s Germany, Zimbabwe, Argentina every 10 years, Turkey, etc.

    10 years treasury note...tyo/tyd

I mean it could happen if the inflation calms down or supply chain eases. I doubt it will happen but its always possible. I still remember 2018 Q4 and the Fed pretty much collapsed the industrials & tech stocks.

    Netflix, hehe.

https://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/the-equalizer Its not available for streaming. You can only rent or buy it. Sony doesn't have a streaming service. I think they used to just license it to Netflix or Hulu.

    10 years treasury note...tyo/tyd

It's actually 3X. TMV/TMF is even more volatile since it is for the 20 Year. Problem is the rate just keeps going higher and higher so all you need is TMV right now. Maybe the Fed will capitulate to the markets & decide to stop raising rates and TMF will make sense.

    SPY after hours

Without WTI dropping 5% there would have been no rally at all. If WTI was up 5% the market would have been down 1-2% instead.

    Netflix, hehe.

I read the r/cordcutters subreddit and it seems the biggest complaint against Netflix from that crowd is that the majority of the content is very mediocre with a few really good series/movies. I think also the last price hike and the coming end of password sharing has really moved the needle for...

Australia’s property boom making the nation poorer

I guess no one wants to live in the Northern Territory. I assume New South Wales is the domain of the asset gatherers & upper middle class? I remember in 2006 I visited the Gold Coast (my friends in laws) and it was expensive even back then. Nice place.

ARKK - Retail trading has fallen to lowest levels since pre-pandemic...

The worst are the Fast Money permabulls. According them there is never a bad time to go long. Of course what do you expect from a station that used to be referred to as BubbleVision. Its obvious if you follow Oil price vs. Nasdaq that the market is only higher because Oil & NatGas are down.

Inverse ETFs for the upcoming crash: UVXY TZA SQQQ SDOW SPXU

As long the 10 year rate keeps rising MYM (DIA) will do the best and MNQ (QQQ) will do the worst -- and MES (SPY) will be in the middle. I have been short all 4 futures indexes M2K (IWM) MYM MES & MNQ since April 5 and currently (0543 EST) 58% of the gain is from MNQ and 87% of the gain is from...

Why are TIPS bonds only paying about 2⅓% when inflation is at 7.9%?

Gold is not a direct hedge against inflation. It is a hedge against the stability of Governments. Gold was gaining in the 1930s which is one of the reasons FDR confiscated them (along with devaluing the currency during the sovereign debt crisis after the collapse of the Rothschild superbank...

Australia’s property boom making the nation poorer

Sounds like the US, UK, Canada, etc. I guess it could be worse if you live in NZ where the Prime Minister elected herself dictator during the pandemic. By the way what does "bone lazy" refer to? I've never that before. Must be an Aussie phrase.

    Market timing and style rotation

I like IWM since there are leveraged versions of it both long & short (TNA & TZA) as well as futures which is even higher leverage depending on your broker. IWN is probably the ETF to use for even better alignment to the Value sectors but it doesn't have the liquidity.

Australia’s property boom making the nation poorer

No housing and the builders are going belly up. I wonder what it will take for the Morrison government to do more than utter condescending slogans.

That picture of Morrison is hilarious. He looks like he is leading a seance or some cult.

    Worst Economic Predictions in History

I remember Christmas Eve 2018 when Cramer looked the most depressed I ever saw. That December was one of the worst months I ever saw in the Nasdaq especially since it would just go down day after day. It wasn't a huge gap down like Covid or the Yuan devaluation of August 2015. I'm still not...

    Market timing and style rotation

IWM used to simply be a high beta trade much like QQQ, but I think the last 3-4 years it is really just a leveraged value play. Recently I noticed that DIA & IWM do move in tandem and QQQ is the reverse of DIA especially when rates go higher. The Dow was up most of the day while QQQ was down 1%+...

Musk Offers to Buy Twitter at $43 Billion Valuation

Looks like 2018 & 2019 were anomalies. Maybe the Orange Man helped with more outrage. TWTR is up 3% since the close of the IPO in 2013. 3% in 9 years. Simply amazing.
