What do you think of this deal ? (Futures prop firm)

$2500 per month shouldn't be deducted until you can build your account up some.

What is needed to start a small trading room?

state of the art computers and monitors. It's very annoying to walk into a room full of computers which have crt monitors when flat panel lcd monitors are so abundant.

    Separate trading office

There are many smaller, sparsely populated communities all over that do not have dsl or cable modem availability. Many people don't realize it though. Incidently, I think you've probably found that a T1 is a hundred times more dependable than either dsl or cable modem.

Ramp up size of ES, NQ

After a couple of trades I've found that the market absorbs the extra contracts quite readily. There is a definite difference in profit/loss dollar figures per day, but it's something I can live with.

Sounds like a bad trade: buying social life and selling ability to maintain it.

    Occasional Apocalyptic Epistles

It's hard to offer suggestions without more disclosure of your trading. What parameters are you using for entry, exits, stop loss, buys and sells. Why so many trades in one day?

You've got something working then. What wrong with trading FD/May with a small amount of shares if it's more volatile than what you're used to?

Trend following system w/ Option writes

Selling puts as a strategy can work under the circumstances of a market that has reversed a strong down move, after the option premiums have increased. The risk lies in the assumption that the downtrend is over, which you really can't know ahead of time.

Percentage of the traders trading futures between 11:30 and 14:00?

It depends on your style of trading ... I have found (proven through backtesting) that the setups and type of trading that I do have the most consistency between 11:30 and 14:00.

Ramp up size of ES, NQ

Yes, I noticed that also when I got on a run of losing trades that I had cut back my size of trading from 2 contracts to 1, until I could pull myself out of the drawdown. Also when my confidence grew, I found the transition easier to add positions. With the growth in the account size I could...

Ramp up size of ES, NQ

The reason that I concentrate on the eminis is that the liquidity is there at all times of the day, as opposed to the dow contract. The dow isn't liquid at all times of the day but is getting there.

Ramp up size of ES, NQ

I have been daytrading ES and NQ regularly now and I am thinking of ramping up the size of my lot size. I went from a 1 lot trader to a 2 lot trader at the beginning of the year after being a 1 lot trader for 15 months. Now the September contract has just started trading and I'm thinking...

Trend following system w/ Option writes

This is probably one of my favorite strategies, but one word of caution ... What happens when you cover or buy back the option that you sold and the market continues against you? Are you prepared to sell another option? In a market that has a lot of whipsaws, you could get hurt badly...

    Separate trading office

Running a small office with a handful of other traders works out as far as camaraderie. Boards like this one at ET are good, but I haven't found any chatrooms as valuable as sitting next to someone who really knows what he's doing. I brought in another trader friend, who trades at home...
