    New Trading Computer

I have had a lot of luck with Powerspec. This is Microcenter's house brand. I recently got this one, http://www.microcenter.com/product/463588/B727_Desktop_Computer and upgraded the ram to 32g (from 16) for and extra $50, so $849 total plus tax. Have been very happy with it.

Profiting From trading 2 Markets that Move the INVERSE from one another .........

That's the point of the spread. Most of the time they offset each other, but opportunity arises when they don't. It allows you to sell/buy premium in different way then trading the options. Also I tend to have more ES then VIX as the Vix increases, not vice versa as you suggest.

Profiting From trading 2 Markets that Move the INVERSE from one another .........

I have been trading this spread for some time and I think it offers some great opportunities. I am either long VIX futures and long ES futures or vice versa. The ratio can change, but at lower volatilities I generally trade it 1 x 1. I find the liquidity in the Vix futures contract to be...

Call Out Your Potential Option Trade and Let's Discuss it

Here is an nice spread for you all. Buy Lnkd Jan 195 calls, sell Lnkd Dec 195 calls. I was putting the spread on today for .06 and .07. Basically buying the offer selling the bid. Lnkd is being taken over at 196 by Microsoft, but is now trading at 190.70. Some concerns on EU approval. No...

Platforms with ZERO charge (or very low charge) that allow you to trade exchange spreads

You may want to check out REDI as well. I haven't used them in over a year, but they are now broker neutral, not just limited to Goldman. Not sure of the cost.

    Monday Weekly options

I would say liquidity is the same as the Wednesday weeklies, with a fair amount of volume as well.

Why so long to calculate the S&P 500 closing?

Sig, My feed showed the final closing price at about 3:06 ct. Since the number is based on the final closing price on all the SPX stocks, there may be some stocks who have a late print, so these numbers are not know until all the stocks have actually had their closing prints. I have seen cases...

Source to calculate S&P 500 dividend totals by day?

I used to get this information from the CBOE. I would suggest you call their help desk and ask if they still offer it.

Deep out of the money options pricing

If you hit/take the price the option is bid or offered at you will be filled, with very few exceptions, none of which I think would apply to a TOS customer order. These exceptions would include, you have sent an order to a specific exchange and marked the order not to be routed to another...

NVAX down 84%, Some Option Buyers bought the $8s for $.20

I've been trading SRPT. Currently trading around 30 with next week out of the money puts trading at a 350 vol. Crazy!

IB Option Sell Limit Order below ask not updating ask

Unless you are trading huge size, I would say no. The actual bid/ask spread in the COB is really very tight. Although you won't know exactly what it is except by walking up or down your spread. You will also get an instant fill on your order if it is placed in the COB and is marketable. If...

Momentum/day trading SPX - Ever try buying opposite direction in order to "freeze" your P/L?

So if you buy 1 call in the SPX and it has a 50 delta (which it would if the call strike was about at the same price of the index) you would short 500 shares of SPY, which is also equal to 1 emini S&P 500 future. This would get you delta neutral. The problem with this is the margin required...

Momentum/day trading SPX - Ever try buying opposite direction in order to "freeze" your P/L?

No, I mean shorting shares in the SPY etf. You will either buy or sell short SPY shares in a delta equal to your SPX position.

Momentum/day trading SPX - Ever try buying opposite direction in order to "freeze" your P/L?

If you are unable to trade futures, you can trade the SPY to hedge your position. Find out the delta of your position and buy or sell the corresponding shares of SPY. This is slightly different from a straddle. If say you were long calls, a straddle would be buying an equal delta put. This...

Momentum/day trading SPX - Ever try buying opposite direction in order to "freeze" your P/L?

They easiest way to accomplish what you are suggesting is sell or buy S&P 500 emini futures. They will hedge you SPX position with minimal slippage.
