    Flex Options Broker

I was allowed to do Flex trades through my Goldman account, but that was a JBO. Don't know of any pure customer brokers that will allow it. My experience with Flex trades are that you will be giving up A LOT of edge to put it on and again to take it off (this was several years ago, could be...

    tastyworks announces fee structure

Remember TOS rates for options are all in, so no exchange fees. So if you are trading the SPX, or VIX options, you need to add about another .55 per contract for most other brokers, which I would assume includes Tastytrade.

SPY & SPX or Large Bluechip Weekly Option Strategy...trading intraday could it work, questions?

More than enough liquidity in SPY or SPX weeklies. Other things to consider. 1 SPX option has a much higher notional value than 1 Spy option, so you will have to do more SPY contracts to equal 1 SPX contract. There are higher exchange fees for SPX contracts, so this may matter depending on...

Experience trading from a windows tablet?

If you don't spending a bit more, you may want to consider the Mircosoft Surface Pro. If your not familiar with it is a tablet that can have a keyboard attached. Screen is slightly bigger screen, around 12". I currently use this when traveling. It runs full windows and has enough ram to open...

    buying VIX calls here

Grizzly, will the folks at IB are technically correct that you are trading calls on the VIX index, when you buy March calls, they are PRICED off of the March VIX futures. So the current index price of the VIX isn't really relevant to the March calls. The March futures, as others have stated is...

    Can't sell my options

You are giving up a lot of money by exercising the options here. When you exercise the call you are essentially assigning a zero value to the corresponding put. Looking at your options now, I see a market of .15-.25, with the stock at 3.05. I would suggest in the future that you do not...

    Can't sell my options

This is true, but there are reasons you may not be able to trade the underlying against the options. You may not have enough capital to put the stock position on, or if you need to short the stock, it may not be available to short. Just because quotes are wide or there are no bids shown, it...

SPY alternative with cheaper share price?

Your best bet is the SPX emini futures. 1 future equals 500 shares of SPY, and will require margin in the neighborhood of $6,000.

    How does assignment work

This is the same as simply being short 2 at the money puts (for every one time you did your play), which may save you a bit of commissions.

    Roll futures on interactive brokers

The spread market is very tight. There is also no "legging" risk, where there other side moves after you execute the first side.

    Option Market Making Software

I don't believe so. This came from a market making group on the Cboe, and morphed into stand alone software. I have looked at it at the Futures and Options conference and really liked the system, but it was far more than I needed as I no longer quote. I currently use Wex as a customer and I...

Interactive Brokers just removed $100,000+ from my account

If there was no transfer from your account I assume that it was a bad mark on a position you are holding. This could be a bad quote coming from an exchange, or a bad print which causes IB to mark a position away from fair value. If this happened you would see a dramatic change in your equity...

Can you sell a put option above strike and "guarantee" assignment?

What you are missing here is that your short put will not be assigned. Based on your prices, you are selling the put with 4.80 in premium. No one would exercise an option in this instance. Its really that simple.

Question about exercised sold call option before ex-dividend date

Interesting that you would call my answer bullshit. I gave the correct and easiest answer of when to exercise a call. It is all dependent on the price of the put of the same strike as the call and the amount of the dividend.

Question about exercised sold call option before ex-dividend date

First, a lot has been written about this if you do a search, but in summary, You have not provided enough information to have any idea if your short calls will be exercised. The easiest way to know if a long option will/should be exercised before a dividend is where the corresponding put is...
