This could be it ... March low +300 / Dow round #9000 maybe?

    IB charts with improved clarity

I don't really have a problem with IB's charts. A little slow in updating bars, but my profitability is not based on reacting to the last nano-second change in bar size. They have some features that I actually find superior to Quotetracker, such as the ability to plot horizontal S/R lines with...

ND - no real losses ... you're doing fine. Keep it up! Forgive the stupid question, but could you please explain what the "+6" line is? What is it and how would it be used? - Thanks.

Day looks bullish so far, but the Dow has closed green 8 days in a row ... that will want to correct at some point very soon.

Hitting 'control'+'print screen' copies whatever window was last selected to the clipboard (invisible). You then have to open MS Paint and copy it into there. You can save it anywhere you like - doesn't have to be the desktop. IB offers NYSE Tick, Trin, etc. if you're desperate. Regards TH

    Spelling and Trading

To me the laziness translates into a form of rudeness in a way, because it makes the reader work harder. Otherwise I wouldn't really care, just like I don't really care if someone dresses like a slob if that's how they wish to present themselves.

Not so much that as the misspelling of it : "ect. " . I recently saw a classified ad from a tutor who claimed to have some fairly respectable academic credentials (advanced degrees, 4.0 GPA), and the person used "ect." several times in the ad. I do hear them say "exspecially" on TV alot...

Trend Trading vs Non directional and ballance

Or, maybe try it (trend trading) with maybe 10-20% of your portfolio until you are convinced it can work for you. In any case, I'd still say keep doing your options selling with no less than 50% of your money, since it usually pays to do what you know. Strategy diversification is a good...

Not at all ... I just had the sense that you were handling the breakouts appropriately (fading, which is the right choice most of the time), so I wanted to assure trader david he had nothing to worry about ... lol. Really was not my place to step in anyway, so my apologies to both of you...

Care to elaborate on your thinking in regard to the setup? I don't see your usual divergence for a long on the daily, other than back at the 865 DB. As always, appreciate the great thread.

I doubt very much that ND bought the breakout/HOD. :)

    Jackson in flames.

I've never had my hair catch on fire so I have no idea what it's like, but maybe in this case it took that long to burn through all the junk in his hair and the hair itself before reaching his actual scalp.

Great trading once again ND ... also very good comments BH. If I may offer just 1 piece of advice, it's to be well aware of econ news that's due out. Today that quick drop at 10am NY time, which gave you your biggest gainer for the day, may or may not have been related to the Philly fed...

With 20 contracts, if he takes just 2 off at +50 points (934-->884), pocketing $5k, then he's doubled what he would make if stopped out at 929 on all 20. That still allows for 90% of the original 20 lot to run. I'm not sure I get it, but he does seem to have it all work out in the long run.

ES gap from Intel earnings ... +10, at Dow round # 8500. Let's see if that's it, although I wouldn't be surprised to see ES 22.50 before it turns.

tax the rich for health care

That thing about how they caved on the x-rays is hilarious. I'm sure all dentists are feeling the recession now, so no doubt that's how that worked. My girlfriend's brother is and her father was a dentist. The father was very down-to-earth and cool, but the brother ... kind of a prick now...

tax the rich for health care

Tell you what ... I'll do it for half that. And and I won't even ask you to bring the pliers. But seriously ... it's what, maybe 40-50 minutes of work? ... hour and a half, tops? As far as I'm concerned, NOBODY's time is worth that much, and I mean NObody. It pisses me off that we let these...

Plan on it sucking then .... but it won't. You can always go back to paper to get your mojo back if you need to. Ya ya, I know, it's not realistic and all, but imo it's still a good training ground. (Does a boxer never spar? ... do armies not take target practice?) Again, great job!

ES results are best when scalping for a point.

How long have you been doing it this way, or haven't you? Is averaging down part of your plan?
