Wouldn't be surprised if you get another shot, the RTH R10 notwithstanding. YM gap fill is still considerably lower (30 pts), and that 50% (87.50) seems begging to get tagged, imho.

Could be good. 87.50 is 50% of the swing off the high-volume low on 1/13. Filled?

Poorly worded, sorry. Gap fill @ 89.50 based on YM DT and ES H&S in pre-mkt, was all I was pointing to.

While I agree with most of this in general, I think your use of absolutes might be a little overboard. "EVERYONE is born healthy ... " It might be true that we don't show symptoms on day one of life, but everyone's blueprint has vulnerabilities that are the seeds of diseases/conditions which...

I still believe in this scenario. Didn't mean to suggest it would happen this century though. :D

Still looking at a DT in YM (w/Globex high), H&S in ES. Friday's ES close of 89.50 is calling, imho.

It's probably age too. 40-45 is when alot of people start to need reading glasses, but I'm sure 10 years of full-time video gaming can hasten the process.

I've noticed it's common on T-days when there's a significant report (reports) to fuel the initial drop.

Keep adjusting it to the latest bar? (b/o's will be close enough to the TL's). But then, yeah, that kinda defeats the purpose. :(

Hi D ... IB Alerts work great. There's an icon for it on the main TWS page (if you've enabled it in the configuration process) to set up a new alert. Basically it steps you through it ... select the instrument, select the box for "price", and make one alert for ">" (type in desired price) for...

    Reality tv star special tax.

I agree with you about the reality TV stars, but do we really wana explore much further down that road? It's not as if trading is the most socially redeeming enterprise.

Thanks, yeah I'm just always looking for clues on the daily to help with bias. Lately the 200-day has been ridiculously reliable as resistance, so I've been watching all the major indices to see if it looks like that resistance is ready to crack.

The DOW has been leading rallies lately. Seems it's teasing for a golden cross on the daily ... (wonder if that'll be the catalyst for a bullish start to 2012, after this flat/volatile year. )

    2012 Trading Journal of 2steps

Hi there ... a couple questions for you : 1) do you have a backtested plan?, and 2) have you sim traded for awhile to make sure that plan works at least in some form of practice? I hope you are not planning on trying to scalp QM. It is prone to hideous slippage, and that plus the .025 tick...

T-day lift and Santa Claus rally after a 2 week decline? Santa Claus came to town the week before Christmas in both of the previous 2 years (last time he didn't was in '08, a crazy year for the market anyway). Plus lately it seems that those strong EOD moves are good fades, as they tend to...

I'd be curious to hear your case against a Christmas rally starting overnight here, or an early T-day boyz jam-up for that matter. We've fallen pretty far the last 10 days.

Low volume environments are prime for locals to jerk the price around however they see fit. In this case it looks like they wanted to protect long positions that were entered on the pullback of the LOD bar (1209 area). To answer your 2nd question, yes that bar created a (minor) pivot, which...

Anybody else showing strange diparity between the ES chart and settlement price? I know they're not always spot on, but last couple of sessions they seem pretty out of whack. Friday chart shows ESH2 close of 1253.75, but IB's "prior close" shows on the chart as 1253.00. CME says 1252.00...
