Recent Visitors - Do people like that?

Unless one has been delivered in the backwoods by an anonymous midwife, has never applied for a driver's license, and has never filed a tax return, the privacy ship has sailed. Those who are concerned about this are decades too late. Sorry.

Recent Visitors - Do people like that?

Again, so what? Every post you've ever made has "visitors". What difference does it make whether or not you know who they are? What difference does it make whether or not they know you're reading their posts? Everybody is anonymous.

    Having a system vs freewheeling

Well, then, whatever other traders do or don't do is of no importance with regard to your trading. You'll learn quickly if you don't already know whether you prefer a mechanical approach or a more discretionary approach. You'll also learn quickly if you don't know already what bar interval you...

Recent Visitors - Do people like that?

FWIW, thousands of people read my posts, so what do I care whether or not they visit my profile page? If one doesn't want people to know anything about him, don't fill it out. If one fills it out anyway, why would one object to people looking at it? That's sort of the point. As for the "friend"...

Ghost of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

If one is extremely generous with these longer-term trendlines, both the ES and NQ are sitting on them. The fact that they both hit the brakes when reaching these levels and sat there for hours until the close, and after, suggests that this may be the case. If so, then the line of least...

Bride of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

This doesn't have anything to do with boru specifically nor with the comments directed toward him re S&R. However, after yesterday's chat session, it became clear to me that, after having simplified and re-simplified this approach over three threads, the problem is not so much the approach...

    Having a system vs freewheeling

Your first post was in August. Are you just starting out?

Bride of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

Whether or not it was sim doesn't matter as long as it was RT and not hindsight. When you say that you "took an early exit because of support on the 60 min was around 80", I suggest that you forget about conventional notions of support and resistance, at least for now. I've spent a lot of...

Bride of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

When you say that this is "hindsight trading", do you mean that you didn't take any of these trades in real time?

No, same as it's always been: stinto.net/en/chat.htm?refId=rnylr#

Gold, Silver, and Indexes Using Price Action

As I said above, price has already rejected the upper limit of the spot trend channel, so that's that. I haven't backtested any of this in the context of AMT, but, just looking at it, AMT appears to be applicable. And a short is particularly attractive given that the slope of the channel is down.

Gold, Silver, and Indexes Using Price Action

In that case, price hasn't even broken out of the spot channel, after one attempt. That may be why the other instruments that are being used are so sluggish.

Ghost of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

I should also reiterate that this is not a rigid "system", now even less so now that AMT has been introduced into it. The trader's own preferences will determine his success as much as how well he implements the approach. I, for example, as I made clear this morning, do not trade chop unless I...

Gold, Silver, and Indexes Using Price Action

At the risk of hijacking G's thread, buyers have been struggling for control since the end of August. That's why price has been trending down. Now they've managed to escape this channel. Now they have to put a higher low and a higher high in place. Then they'll be in business. If one wants to...

Ghost of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

I'm pointing out that you're not reversing at the extreme but entering a short long after. Therefore you have to expect some recoil and even an adverse incursion. When this popped up, you exited. That's why I suggest not trading chop at all.

Gold, Silver, and Indexes Using Price Action

If one wants to incorporate trends and trend channels into his trading decisions, he has to begin at the beginning, in this case the end of August. One can draw the line and the channel wherever he likes, but if he doesn't do it properly, he is likely to be looking at/for the wrong thing at the...

Ghost of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

If one is extremely generous, the trendline is at least being tested. Otherwise, it's broken. If we now make a lower high, that's pretty much it. Ditto with the ES.

Ghost of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

The short, however, was Friday, and the bar itself defined the hinge, so one would have to look into the future to see that as a short opportunity. As for shorting the TC you showed me in chat, yes, one can use AMT to trade that, but remember that extremes work both ways, and you have to be...

    Truncated Posts

It doesn't really matter. If copying a post into another post, the same problem presents itself. Or did. Ditto if the post is "quoted". However, I haven't seen this for a few days, so it may have been a temporary glitch in the updating process.

    Can random trading be profitable?

Tharp was the "vendor" I referred to earlier. And he sucked as a trader. Struggling traders latch on to this kind of thing because it holds the promise of providing them with a potential out rather than have to go to the trouble of developing a consistently-profitable trading plan...
