    Trading NQ via Price Action

There are only two ways to determine rules: (1) observing, backtesting, forwardtesting, simtrading, and (2) simtrading. The latter can go on for years, particularly if there's no chart review. But chart review is hindsight. Whatever questions you have about rets and so forth can be obtained...

    NQ Price Action Journal

This doesn't have much to do with scratching, but is rather a visit back to the first thread. If it's too soon for that, just ignore it:

    Trading NQ via Price Action

When you're right there and have no idea, it's because you haven't done the work, which includes studying old charts and determining where and how price changes from up to down to sideways. If you're "kicking yourself" for not getting in on a particular bar, you're already dwelling in hindsight...

    NQ Price Action Journal

When I began the first thread, If You Can Draw A Straight Line, I included several modifications or options or whatever one wants to call them to prevent the approach from being too rigid. People were of course hopelessly confused. So I began the Son thread, leaving out all but a few. Still too...

Sector Analysis Using Pure Price Action

Depends on how tightly you draw the SL. If you draw it across the swing highs, you aren't even close. Instead you drop to 100 and get into a congestion between that and 108. Even if price moved all the way back to 118, you'd still be below the higher SL. Be aware of that if you decide to go long.

    NQ Price Action Journal

Whether or not the long is closed has nothing to do with how one traces the line. If you're going to trade this mechanically, the long is closed when your DL is broken, 0939. The ret for the short is at 0941. The entry is at 0942. The short is then stopped out immediately. At this point, one...

Elitetrader does not work on firefox anymore

I have both Firefox and Chrome. Loading problems in both. And speaking of letting something go . . .

    NQ Price Action Journal

Depends on how mechanical you want to be. At this point, tho, it's all hindsight, so perhaps you ought to do your own trade review and determine exactly why you scratched which trade.

    boru's price action journal

This provides an example of what I was referring to in my last response in Gears' thread. This a ret, and it has to be taken. If price can't make a higher high at 77 or so, then it becomes a potential short continuation and an SAR. If that doesn't go either, then you're in chop.

Key words here being "may be". "May be" is not part of the consideration. If there's a ret, take it. If it doesn't go and turns into a rev, either SAR or scratch. Guessing what's going to happen next defeats the purpose of this approach. Trade what's in front of you, not what you think is going...

switching gears to Price Action via SLA

In the interests of saving time: A relatively mechanical approach, depending on how one defines "ret". One can use the bar itself, one can use the right-tick, or one can define it as a "pause". If this is milky, drop to a lower bar interval, e.g., 30s, and these overlong bars will...

switching gears to Price Action via SLA

You're making decisions based on lines that can't be drawn until after the decision has to be made. Either you're looking ahead, or you're afraid of following the rules if they require you to make a trade that might not be a profitable one. This approach is not about all profits and no losses...

Elitetrader does not work on firefox anymore

Hasn't been working too well on Chrome, either, but I assumed you've been working on it today. If that's not the case, then the cause of the loading issue may be the same as the last time.
