    firm choices

If you speak to traders whom have started at ETG and now trade somewhere else....the consensus is usually the same. I myself had a favorable experience there. But many will tell you different. They were overcharged considerably on commissions(But then again most never have to post...

Making MORE MONEY TRADING working full time?

Swing trading and working full time can be accomplished very successfully if you develop/use a good system which considers reward-to-risk prudently. Stop & stop limit orders get you into the market effectively but the key is to get stops entered once you're in the market...

    Spread Trading

The CBOT has just launched a portion of their site just dedicated to getting up to snuff on some of the IR spread products. http://www.cbot.com/cbot/ir/home/ Worth the read if one is looking to expand their knowledge past the conventional Seasonal plays. Best, J-Law

    Spread Trading

Spreadem, I misinterpreted what you were asking. Sorry. Other than options, I can't think of another way to hedge such a position. Doesn't mean that others don't exist. Maybe entering in to the opposite position in another acct. You would be market neutral & locked in with a profit...

    Spread Trading

Thanks for your input. It is much appreciated. I understand your perspective on the 10% issue, especially in light of IR products which have 1000's of possible combinations taking into account cash, futures, options and all the maturities. If I have this correct, I think alot of the...

    Spread Trading

When you put on a spread how do you hedge it. When you have a spread on there is an inherent built in hedge, your opposing leg. I'm sure there is a way to employ options to hedge yourself, but that comes at a cost, the Bid/ask spread, commissions, etc. I have never really given the...

    Spread Trading

Conclusion - spread trading is not as easy as one might be lead to think. I know a little late but wanted to chime in on this topic. This style hands down is alot easier than staring into a screen for 8 hours at a clip trying to figure out which way the institutions and the specialist...

    Spread Trading

This style of trading as we all know isn't all that popular with most futures traders, let alone traders in gen'l. Just yesterday i was explaining the approach to an equities trader whom is rather proficient......& i recieved alot of blank looks and and a reply, "Commodities ?? Don't people...

    Options on futures & IB

Saschabar, I am for directing my orderflow away from the pit. The spreads some of those thieves (i mean MM's) quote is ridiculous. I'm open to that. But haven't the slighest idea of how to trade (method) the interest rate products. Why I asked about them initially was to trade an option...

    Options on futures & IB

Well, just got off the phone with IB and they don't trade options on the TY Note futures. & that settles that. So does anyone know of a reasonably priced futures broker that's competitive or close to it w/ IB's rates ?

    Options on futures & IB

So if I have this all correct. I can trade options on ty note futures and I can trade TY note futures as well. But have to leg into positions. Ex. So if I wanted to buy 2 ATM TYH3 calls and short a 1 lot. This would be 2 separate orders and the futures are not open outcry but electronic.

    Options on Futures

Plenty of people trade them. The advantage is the ability to construct a defined risk profile. Say you feel crude oil is too high but don't want to short the futures because of war worries. You could buy puts on the futures or sell a call spread, etc. Make sure you understand the pricing and...

    Options on futures & IB

Anyone currently or have ever traded options on futures or futures (other tnan the E-mini or index contracts) thru IB ?? If your trading more than one leg(options vs underlying) can you get the all the legs off in a single order. What were your experiences like ??? Can you see a market...

    Eurodollar futures and options

Do you know what that translates into dollar terms on a 1 lot?? The reason I ask is that I'm looking for options on an interest rate futures product that trades with reasonable liquidity and spreads. Is that considered tight or a drag across the coals ???? Best, J-Law

    Event driven volatility

Anyone ever trade the options on Eurodollar contracts. There seems to be alot of volume there. How are the spreads ??? Does the underlying respond to the same stimulus as the 10 year Note ???
