    Dual monitor problems

Scalper007, Thanks for the feedback but the weird thing is that I go to my second monitor windowsxp display settings and it says 1440x900 but it's not at that resolution because the screen looks very weird and different compared to the other one. In fact both monitors are set to 1440x900...

$20K, trade it or go for a MS in Finance

You have to approach the market like it will be the only thing you will do in your life. If you are going to be thinking of that MBA everytime you lose money, you will start your MBA sooner than you think and with 20k less in your pocket. BTW, 20k is not enough anyway unless 20k is your risk...

    Adapting to the Hybrid

I see a lot of people panicking over the hybrids lately because everyone including us daytraders, goldman's black boxes, specialists and everyone in between are adapting to the hybrids. Being so, charts look untradable, the open book could look like a mess at times, the specs might hold and rape...

    NYSE Open Book

Can you see the things PinkBunny mentioned? Basically you are looking for relevant size on the OB. Then recognize if the size is a stale size (does not move) size that is stepping up/down (agressivelly trying to get filled), fake size (size that flashes and dissappears), maintaining bids (part...

    NYSE Open Book

777, the open book is good for all sorts of things that would take me a long time to explain...that being said, the open book is very important. It tells you where to get out, when to get out, when to stay in the trade, it tells you where the stock might find resistance or support, it tells your...

    Any scalpers out there?

Perhaps he is trying scalping because he has already tried your strategy. If you are going to say scalping is a mirage, at least do us all a favor and tell us why. Many people here live their dreams out of scalping...

    Any scalpers out there?

I knew I was going to regret writing it the way I did but what I meant was to place your order in front of a meaninful bid stepping up or meaninful offer stepping down so technically you are following size but you are in front of it. Hope that's clearer.

    Any scalpers out there?

Follow size...is a common strategy where we get in front of big institution orders that are agressively trying to get filled. Do a search here for tape reading, bid stepping up, offer stepping down if you are interested in this style...

    internet connection?

Don't you guys think we should be running speed tests directly to our order servers? Running a speed test to some popular server is one thing but running to the server you care about is another. I would not be worried so much about download/upload speed but with latency times rather. Tracert...

    internet connection?

Good point but with a dual router you can select the line you want as primary and use the secondary if the primary fails. I don't think you would have to use both simultaneously so lagtime would be irrelevant. I guess the best solution would be a dual router with a dsl and cable or dsl from two...

    internet connection?

Yeah, I have not traded over cable yet but having a cable line means that you have a pipe to share among several users in your neighborhood which will slow down your line if many users are using simultaneously unlike DSL which you are guaranteed a certain bandwidth which can get better but never...
