e-miNY crude oil and gas futures changes

patbateman - Thanks for the info. I've purely traded just E-Mini's - Russell, S&P, etc. How does ICE differ from these? I'm on the ice website now and I can't tell exactly. Thanks!

e-miNY crude oil and gas futures changes

I'm just wondering how long it will be till the QM is trading normal again - today has been interesting to watch. And that's just it - watch. Now that oil is closed, it's 2:40pm EST, my QM DOM is showing all zero's... I've never seen this before, perhaps on ClearPort they numbers show zero...

Alaron does have access to the QM right now. I think they are on Pats.

e-miNY crude oil and gas futures changes

Do you guys think this move is going to raise or lower the volume? If brokerage firms that were trading on Globex no longer can on ClearPort, will their clients stop trading the QM or just transfer to a broker that can (like Alaron)? And if there's enough brokerages that can't trade on ClearPort...

Oil EmiNY futues contracts moving to Nymex ClearPort from Globex

Has anyone come across this: http://www.nymex.com/press_releas.aspx?id=pr20051017a I'm not exactly sure how to read this... how will this affect trading, if at all? I currently trade through TradeMaven and Alaron. Thanks.

To Anyone Who Has Made the Transition Into Futures

Mike805, I basically did the transition that you are thinking about doing. I've been an 'investor' for many years, worked as a stockbroker for 4.5 yrs, and then made the jump to full-time 'trader' mainly in the futures markets. Contrary to a couple posts here, we LOVE the ER2. $10/tick is...

Am I responsible for faulty Trademaven?

Another way to backup this situation is to download TransAct's DOM. You don't have to trade off of it, just minimize it and bring it up if there's a glitch. Trust it's numbers over TM. I've been using TradeMaven for sometime, and I am not familiar with the TransAct DOM. Can someone please...

Alaron Trading - Is this a good firm to have substanital assets at?

Eager, Sorry, but what does "whistling past the graveyard on this one" actually mean?

Alaron Trading - Is this a good firm to have substanital assets at?

There's a thread or 2 talking about different Futures brokers, but I'd like to focus directly on Alaron Trading. Currently, I have all my accounts (myself, family, friends, etc.) with Alaron. Combined it is a substantial some of money for us. After Refco, I can't help but be considered about so...

I've read that somewhere too. I am not familiar with Wade Cook, so I don't know if this is good or bad. What do you guys think?

What do retail stockbrokers do these days?

dac - I can 2nd that, having resigned in late July from a major firm. While commissions can be large at times, the knowledge they give reps is minimal.

    Swing Trading Futures

Chagi - good point and that's why I wanted to see what kind of responses get posted here. I guess it can work both ways - if you're right, you can be right big and vice versa. Curious to hear other traders thoughts on swing trading futures...

    Swing Trading Futures

Thanks for the replies. Here's another question - when looking to swing trade futures, what markets should I be looking at? Up to this point, it's been your standard E-Mini's: Russell 2000, Dow, S&P, Nasdaq, and Crude Oil. I have been looking at the Treasuries more lately. Any...
