How to market your strategy ?

think of it this way, every time you do something with real money the market reacts to you- backtesting does not give you any information about how your actions could have changed the market- as much as everyone says billions of dollars get traded each day, maybe 80% of that is market maker...

how much leverage- who knows confidence intervals?

1.61x means i average making 1.61 units per month of whatever i'm betting. ie- if i trade with a 4% of my account puke / day, then i'm averaging about 6.4% / month. can't really compare my simple annual rate of return because at times i ramp up my leverage so much during hot streaks so as to...

how much leverage- who knows confidence intervals?

i was analyzing my track record in trading and trying to figure out what amount of leverage i should be using, so i started to do some statistics on my track record, but i was never so hot with confidence intervals. what i'm wondering is if you could help me figure out X- what % of my account...

Why don't rich people manage their own money?

that's why you put it with 10 dif people, so that worst case scenario you are out 20-30% if 2-3 are schemes. but it is far from the norm to lose your money due to fraud- i wouldn't worry too much about the 17 people on tv who had all their money with madoff, that was irresponsible investing on...

i know my firms website said we were at our old office a full 3 years after we moved, so i don't think it necessarily takes too much away- depends on how much you think they really care what others know about them- we always preferred people knew less about us.

Why don't rich people manage their own money?

my dad once used the argument to me- i can work my ass off all year following every piece of detail i can to hopefully make 10%, or i can pay a professional 1% to hopefully make 11% while i sleep easy.

So how was your performance in 2009

i'm not sure what a good way to ever measure this stuff is as return on account isn't really that good of a percentage because if you are trading futures you don't really need much in your account so that % can easily be out of context. i guess return on total capital you'd consider "at risk"...
