Suggestions for a Option Trading Alert service

I have used in the past two option trading alert systems: TradeAlert (https://www.cboe.com/services/analytics/tradealert/individuals/) and OptionsGeek (https://optionsgeek.com/) by Felix Frey. While they are OK, I would like also to try something else. Ideally, I am looking for a service that...

What kind of trade is this?

Thanks for your answer. I agree with you that it could be a butterfly, except for the different number of contracts of the central leg you mentioned. On the other hand, I am seeing recently several combos like this, i.e., 3 options with the same number of contacts. I was wondering if this has...

What kind of trade is this?

I forgot to mention that, as sometimes happens with shopped trades, it is not easy to spot the trade direction from the closeness to the bid or the ask.

Then, shouldn't they have been labeled as "out of sync"?

    Open interest problem

I agree with you that something funny is going on, but then the question becomes: "Why two independent data vendors report that only 10 contracts were exchanged on Augusut 1 ?"

    Open interest problem

Actually, your answer makes a lot of sense. I didn't consider this possibility. Thanks for sharing it. The only thing I don't understand now is why someone would exercise a PUT 120 when the underlying is quoted around 125.

    Open interest problem

That is also my understanding. So if on August 1 there were 3638 outstanding contacts, how come that the next day there are 2000 less outstanding contacts if only 10 options were exchanged the day before?

    Open interest problem

Sometimes, I observe some inconsistency in the option open interest (OI). For instance, recently the option PHM240830P00120000 had the following volumes and reported OI. Date Vol OI 07/31/2024 2005 2038 08/01/2024 10 3638 08/02/2024 42...

    Zacks ranking for option activity

I am considering subscribing to the Zacks service (https://www.zacks.com). They have a quite sound stock ranking service that I would like to exploit using options. Their full piad service is 299/year, though they offer a one month free test. Does anyone have any experience with their service?

Does Option chain pricing, open interest and others can hint about direction of market ?

A A high implied volatility (IV) tells you that the market is expecting a big move either side. For instance you see high IV before earnings.

Beware, Options Investors: You Pay a High Trading Price Compared With Stocks

Absolutely. There are even MM that refuse to put a bid when they forget to hedge their position! :D https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/lack-of-bid-offer-on-aci-call-19-april-expiration.373378/

Lack of bid offer on ACI call 19 April expiration

If they do an overall hedging, there would be no reason to expose a bid below parity. If they didn't hedge, they are already losing money because I bought at 0.8 and the intrinsic value, which I could get by exercising the call, is already well beyond that.

Lack of bid offer on ACI call 19 April expiration

Indeed, I bought also several call 20. The massive buying of this call on march 20 (40,000) was actually what sparked my interest on the underlying. When I spot these opportunities, I usually make also more conservative bets and for this reason I bought also the call 19.

Lack of bid offer on ACI call 19 April expiration

I am not complaining. I was just trying to find out the MM way to work, in order to get a possible alignment. As I said, if he persists with a low bid, I might end up to exercise the call. Or I may hold for a few days, as you suggested, since there are plenty or rumors on ACI. Anyway I hope the...
